Me/E

Hi, you can call me Jynx. I'm a 20-something from the midwestern United States (GMT -6). Get to know me and I'll gladly tell you more about myself, but for the sake of an introduction, that's fine for now.

First, my GW experience. I have been playing for over 2 years now. During some periods more obsessively than others, granted. I own Prophecies, Factions, Nightfall, and EotN. GW:EN is something I only recently bought, so I'm still learning the ropes there. I have 8 characters, one of each class except Elementalist and Ritualist. They are all lvl20, but my experience with them varies. My first, favorite, and most frequently played is my Mesmer. I have been using him more like an Ele, but I'm growing tired of that and thinking of changing him up.

These are things that I an looking for in a guild. Not necessarily needs but qualities that I prefer. (I figure I can describe them since I have a choice in the matter. )Maturity, and lacking thereof is a deal breaker. This has nothing to do with age. I have no problem playing with someone who is still in grade school, so long as they don't act like they have some sort of mental deficiency. I hold a special level of contempt for people who use the word "noob" as an all-purpose insult. No one should be faulted for being a "newb", everyone has to start somewhere. And when someone starts calling someone else a "noob" because they use Dunkoro instead of Tahlkora or they have they "wrong" 15k armor, I just want to beat them senseless. A little smack talk in PvP is excusable in moderation, but that's about as far as my tolerance goes. Experience, I prefer a guild who has been around for some time. A new faction of an established alliance, perhaps, but I'm not interested in a new guild. That doesn't mean it has to have a lot of members or a full hall (although that is a plus), I just don't want to log on one afternoon only to find that 75% of the guild has left. That's happened twice now, and it's annoying. Relaxed atmosphere, I don't want to have to be on a certain number of hours a certain number of days a week. GW is a game, not a job. I play it when I feel like playing. That could mean that I'll play 6 hours a day for 7 days straight, or it could mean that I can go 3 weeks without logging on. If I'm going to be booted from a guild because it has been a week since I last logged on, I won't bother joining in the first place. Because at some point in time I WILL go a week without logging on. Vent or TS not mandatory, typing works just fine for me! Right now, my laptop is a paperweight. I'm forced to used a shared computer in a more public area, so that sort of puts a damper on the whole voice chat thing. I am open to the possibility of using one of those programs once my laptop is in working order again, but I make no promises. A guild forum, or some other way to communicate outside of the game. If I have some greens or golds that I plan on getting rid of, I would check to see if anyone in the guild needed them first. I might even give them away for free if I was feeling generous enough. If I know I'm going to be working towards a specific title, it would be nice to see if anyone else needs to Master that mission of Vanquish that area and coordinate a time when we could do it. Teamwork FTW! UW, FoW, and other Elite missions, in over two years I've never done them. That annoys me! I would like to, the issue is getting someone who knows what they're doing to show me the ropes. I have a feeling PuGs don't really work here. PvP, although I'm not looking for a PvP guild it's nice to have the option to GvG every once and a while. I'm not looking to win any tournaments any time soon, but I'd still like to be able to do it for fun every now and then. I've never considered myself all that good at PvP anyhow, so I wouldn't want a group that's too hardcore about it. Then again, a little more experience would probably improve my abilities.
That's about it. Or at least all that jumps to mind, so if nothing else it's the more important bits. If you want to know more about me, or think your guild might be a good match for me, drop me a line!

- Jynx
