God Walking Amongst Mere Mortals feature suggestion
gargytama
I just came up with a quite good idea regarding the Kind of a Big Deal track:
So what's the big deal?
I think it would be quite cool if you would get a nice and shiny aura when you claim the highest possible rank (God Walking Amongst Mere Mortals) in the KoaBD track.
What should this auro look like?
The aura should be very similiar to the one Kormir gets from absorbing
Abaddon's powers in the Nightfall ending movie, but slightly less shiny so you won't get blinded every time you see a person with GWAMM.
What other effects could this have in-game?
This new feature should get people more active in the "mapped areas" of GW.
More people would do vanquishing, missions, farming but also spend more gold to buy lockpicks.
What positive effects would this bring to the game?
People would get more active in the game.
The economy would become slightly more stabile because of the lockpicks.
People (as me) would be more motivated to climb for the GWAMM title.
The GWAMM title would be more respected (I mean, God Walking Amongst Mere Mortals. Kormir is a god, and as the title says you're also a god if you have it.)
What negative effects could this bring to the game?
Our computers graphic cards will have to work a few kb's harder.
People (as me) would be jelous.
But hey, I've got GWAMM and I don't want my character to glow!
I hope that if Arena.net adds this feature, you will be able to click a small button in the "Hero [H]" window that allows you to turn on/off the aura.
What do we do with the people who don't wanna see the aura at all?
Again, if Arena.net adds this feature, I hope they'll also add a button at the Graphic options that allows you to raise/lower/turn off the quality of the aura on your screen.
Please discuss this idea, I'd like to hear your opinions as well!

Would get me more focused , seems like a good idea , one of the better about GWAMM reward Suggestions.

The only reason I'd want a visual effect for GWAMM is so that I can show off another title or use one that has a bonus in a specific area.
I doubt that adding such an effect would inspire people as much as you say it would.
Also, there is an old thread on this somewhere.

If all the titles for GWAMM where achievement titles I would agree.
But you max it with a lot of grind titles. Grind titles don't show merit, they show time.
If they added an adventurer title (quests) and a Master title (all achievement titles of a region) and their legendaries (Legendary master would include also Eye of the North master)
Then we'll have 28 achievement titles. Add two achievement titles more and separate GWAMM into two titles: one for achievement titles and one for grind titles, and I would agree to give that visual effect to the achievement titles.

LOL!
I thought you were joking when I read the title but then I realized you actually mean it.
Ya let's reward mindless grinding with the most striking title feature in the game./endsarcasm

Thought of this a while back, just never posted anything. I love the idea, and yes, just like high-end full sets (Immortal King! rawr!) in Diablo II. Would be pure ossum.

Most titlez are achievement titles to get up in KoaBD, you can easily get up to rank 4 with them. Then that leave only 10 grind based titlles out of the 30. Also all your vanquishing should get your close to your rep titles, do a few doa runs to max out your lightbringer, plus you should have some cash to start afford the consumable titles.
I dunno, I still think pve needs a shiny, it used to be armor set and weapon skin, but the zchest and reward points ruined that. Guess the only thing is the HoM, but even that is sorta confusing on how much it worth.

It would certainly make all the effort a little more worth it. I'm just about to #26 and the last 4 are gonna be a pain (and expensive!!).
I'd like to see something carry over to GW2 if your account had the God Walking title on it. Wouldn't that be sweet! Like a descendant of the Gods title or something!

No. HELL no. Zaishen rank was enough of a reward for PvE'rs. Absolutely not.

Not bad idea really. Even the title name states god so yeah, something godlike would be cool. /signed

/not signed because I want GWAMM to float when in town/outpost, or another idea is a special HAT that resembles a halo that glows, also if its a hat its easy to give to players without.
For the below, Tyla, I am not sure what you are trying to say, other then if you buy the pvp only pack, but generally speaking if you buy guild wars, you have everything that another players have, both pvp and pve stuffs, its there for you to take. You just have to play the game to get it. Now, whats the problem that someone wants to see a little something that actually is visible when they are standing in a town or outpost. it is only fair because PvP can display the title below their name and at the same time they can force people to look at their emote if they so chooses, while you don't think PvE highest title should get somekind of recognition, I think it is only fair to give GWAMM something to display thats visible, not just the title beneath their character which if you do not highlight the character you won't even see it.
Not for the below:
Please don't bring in zaishen title, its is for both pvp and pve players because both side of players can gain that title and emote. so meh, its a lame excuse to put in here.

PvE has enough stuff. Think about it, you have over 50 missions and 100 explorable areas, alot of easily obtainable armour skins (reward points are only earnable through HB / GvG AT's / mAT's or the Xunlai House, whereas money in PvE is a joke to get), your own seperate set of certain skills, and an incredible amount of titles. Not to mention it's incredibly piss-poor in difficulty for the most part.

but, I support giving pve something shiney, but this, no, this is not so good, and as was said... too many of the titles are grind as hell to be rewarded with this crap. though some of them, (a select few) are respectable.

IMO: customized everlasting God tonic that transforms your character into the god that most represents that profession. I'd love to walk around town as Balthazar.
Mechanics are already there in the Form elite skills.

PvP got their Commander, Gladiator, Zaishen, Hero and Champion tracks which is kinda more than enough actually.
There are a few players that have maxed all PvE titles, but out of all PvP players there's just one who've maxed Hero.
I mean, not a single player have maxed two (or maybe three, not sure of this fact) of the PvP titles and still you complain that PvE guys gets to much of the game?

By the way, you realise that those titles are not giving you benefits, and they are very very little compared to roughly 37 title.

All of the PvE titles are grind.
PS: The only title that deserves any kind of merit is Champion, and even that's debatable. The feeling of accomplishment and words under your name saying you've done it should be by far enough.

True Tyla, the Zaishen title can be bought (for 100mil gold though), but when did I say that PvP was grinding? O.o
Not that I really think anyone will max the Champion title ever, but sure if you think so..
Phan, what do you mean?
Do you mean that there are more ppl who've got GWAMM than gladiator r1 or the opposite?
Romeus, if your dog would get GWAMM I'd spam this forum to give him a GameMaster account with a new expansion named after him with an aura for him only xD

Also a good idea.
The title system, weather one likes it or not, has been popular. To reach the top tier does require some serious grinding but also requires some very real skill

And I definately want to see people running around with an orange aura just leaving people starstruck in their wake, would be so cool.
Hokage Goes Glompage
I totally disagree with this suggestion.
For one reason even though i saw alot of people saying this that PvE does have enough as it is, they have many things and also some of the titles in PvE are a joke to get.
And the people saying about the PvP titles being stupid, well your the stupid one because in PvP you actually have to work your ass off to get at least up acouple of ranks while in PvE some of the titles can take 1-5 days to max which is enough.
And also incase you guys haven't noticed you totally forgot about the Hall of Monuments that you get for your KoaBD title. Not only does it do stuff for you Hall Of Monuments, it also passes through to your GW2 account if you get and you get more as a reward for gaining that title in GW2 if you get r6 KoaBD.
And also Sharkman you are a idiot if you think that zchest was intended for PvE overwise how do you thing that you get z keys if you get TRP or Bal Faction to a NPC ... hmmmmmm?
The most i would say is a emote not a bloodly shining aura for your character
So stop moaning that you PvE'ers don't get enough sometimes because you have got alot

Well then Hokage, if the most of the PvE titles takes 1-5 days to get to max I guess you mean it would take you like 2 months to get Koabd r4?
Go all in for PvE then for 6 months and max all titles!
You'll have your Hall of Monuments complete, a "Bloodly" shining aura, a nice text under you that says "God Walking Amongst Mere Mortals" and ofc, 3 and a half year left to max the Hero title track :O
I mean, you say we have so much to do but what we've really done is the same thing since Nightfall!
The only thing that's diffrent since proph is Point Farming, Vanquishing, eating and drinking which is a "whole lot".
PvP had GvG, Tombs (now HA), RA/TA in proph.
Now they also got AB, HB, ZA and ZE, a couple of new ways to play PvP..
"Killing" other players in a game don't make you a "God".
Getting all achievements in a game does imo make you a "God".

everything is buyable in Guild Wars, if you want to say that something thats is buyable = not worthy of an emote, then nothing is worthy of an emote, because in Guild Wars you can buy everything. (title wise) probably can't buy LDoA title. but thats a stupid death level eeeeeeewwwwwwnesss.

My point is that the Zaishen title isn't purely PvP-based and is obtainable by means of PvE, and then all you need to do is click a chest a shit load of times.
Sure, you can buy your way through PvP-based titles, but you still have to put some slight effort in. The HH W/Mo who ran you through Sanctum Cay isn't going to get you your fame.
In PvE, it's even easier. I just slap Barrage on my bar or something incredibly easy to run and find mobs that will further increase my titles while watching Black Books. And I'm not including any running here. You don't need to make a contribution to runners except for money, too.
cataphract
Reaching GWAMM was totally anticlimactic. No fireworks, no confetti, no naked virgins, no gods to greet me, nothing spectacular. I mean, if you're a God and you're walking amongst mere mortals, shouldn't you have some cool powers? Why stop at the shiny aura? Why not give GWAMMs the same skill Gwen used to burn Ascalon down? And a "Hundred White Doves" skill for those who do not wish to be a destructive deity. Let players choose what "godly" skill they want and make it available once per week.
The mechanics are here. The people are here. Gogogogogo!

But let it begin with a small effect at Kind of a Big Deal and gradually increase with each rank of the title. In that way it is reachable for more players.

I already have to put up with people who think their amazingly expensive and hideous ensemble is a substitute for demonstrated competency. You know who I'm talking about: those people who pop a rank instead of pinging their build. A shiny that can only be obtained by combined grinding and wealth would just be more fuel for the obnoxious fire.
ANet screwed up by choosing the "god walking amongst mere mortals" line for the capstone in their Ron Burgundy title series. They should have gone with "That's How I Roll" or "I Love Lamp" instead. Then we wouldn't have people asking for god auras when a mustache would be more in the spirit of the title.

Face it, PvE title grinding requires no skill other than time and dedication. I've seen people with the IQ of a plant walking around with GWAMM's. To suggest that they should get the most spectacular title reward in the game is nothing short of laughable.
