20% Enchanting mod question

If you cast an enchantment with a 20% enchanting mod does the mod carry over if you switch weapon sets? Or will the duration of the enchantment lessen when you switch?
I'm setting up PvP equipment for my ele and wondering if its worth it to take a 20% enchanting instead of fortitude on spear/shield set. I can keep the main enchantment up as it is, but it'd be nice to not have to cast it even more.

It does carry over when you switch. You'd just have to switch back to your enchanting weapon each time you want to get the bonus.

* +30hp/5e on sword. +30 hp/Armor10vs dmg type
* 40/40 set

* high set
Cast your ench on 20% ench set, yes you will still get the 20% bonus when you switch back.

You are asking if the duration of an enchantment decreases because you switch weapons. It does not. For example:
Enchantment will last 10 seconds without any mods on yoru weapons. If you cast the enchant, it will end in 10 seconds.
Use a +20% enchant weapon and cast it again, it will now last 12 seconds.
If you cast with the enchant weapon set, and then change to a non-enchant set during that 12 seconds, it does not change to a 10 second duration.
As long as you have the enchant set equipped when you cast the enchantment, it will last longer. Changing weapons after it is cast will have no effect on what is already cast.

Longer Enchantment duration mods just like other effects (skills, items, enviroment effects) that change the duration of Enchantments or Conditions are applied at their beginning, swapping weapons or removing the other modifiers won't affect their length once they started.

If you're based on enchanting, get a staff and give it "Aptitude Not Attitude", Adept and Enchanting and switch to it for casting your skills. Your other weaponsets shouldn't go to waste, especially when it's free efficiency.
And to answer your most recent question, a high set is a wand/focus with the following mods.

Half range is better than melee range for a squishy, not that you should be attacking anything when you swap to your HP/Defense set, but [SPACE] happens sometimes...

use the sets from silent and as tyrael said use a spear not a sword, and to answer your original question yes the 20% carries over but only for the enchants you casted while in that set.

However, there are several enchants that have a clause where they are renewed if a certain condition is met. An example is the Earth Magic spell Kinetic Armor. It lasts 8 seconds, but is renewed each time you cast a spell. If you equip a 20% enchanting mod, the duration goes up to 10 seconds. Each time you cast a spell, it'll be ten seconds. But if you then change weapon sets and cast another spell while not in a set with 20% enchanting, Kinetic Armor will still renew, but only for 8 seconds. You can get the ten seconds back again by switching to your 20% set again and casting.
I'm not sure if that's the angle you were trying to hit with your question.

I was just curious, does GW round to the nearest second with the enchanting mod. As in if the enchantment is normally for 12 seconds and you have a 20% enchantment, does the enchantment last for 14 seconds or 14.4 seconds.
