Hi peeps,
After that i saw some amazing stuff here I decided to try my skills in painting.
This is my first photoshop painting, I drew my mesmer but it doesnt look much like her but still I kinda like it. I drew her with her vabbian armor and it had so many details so I just drew a few details that arent really there.
And I know the background sucks, didnt have any ideas for a nicer one.

So here it is:

Comments on how to improve plz...

I'm not an artist, but from what I have learned, there are shapes in everything you draw, and finding and mastering those shapes is key to a great picture. I have yet to do so however lol. I would work on eyes and facial features and practice on those, they seem to be the hardest to do. Also hair can be tricky but you actually did the hair very well. Work on facial features and then perfect the shading just a tad, other then that, you did very well.

Im not sure if you have used it here, but to get porportions right. Draw an eye as close to you GW chars as possible, now look at your gw character again, how many eye length's are there between the eyes?, draw the eye that far away, how many eye lengths are there between the outside edge of the eye and the edge of the head, place a small line or dot there. And just keep on using one of the objects on the face as a proportion tool. The other thing to do is more shading and highlighting, i see youve done some shading on the side of the face and the lips, but the nose, eyebrows and clothing need in to. Highlighting, while dificult to make it look good, when done well looks very nice, the key is finding the colour threshold were it stops looking to bright. Hope to see more of the nice artwork from you!

Looks like people have pretty much covered what you need to work on, which really isn't much. For being your first one I'd say it's very well done. Just keep practicing and soon you'll master it. Good luck and keep posting your art.

When I am drawing copies I find that a scaled grid cant be beat.

print out a pic of your subject... make a grid with pencil..(smaller grids = greater detail)....do same with the surface to recieve drawing... I have never used a program to draw so im not sure how you would make the grid that way... but u can use thin strips of tape on your monitor to form the grid.. ..there you go...everything should be perfect..more or less... gl...
