I can't kill Commander Varesh, The prophet is quite easy... but this new chick. I want to just shoot her. any ideas on what kinds of professions are needed and how many? I had 3monks 2 ele and 2 warriors and one paragon.

meh i just usually pay 2k and have it run for me or i run it myself.

I used Vekk and Zhed Shadowhoof as a searing flames spammer. I had an ebon dust aura barrager hero and a healer's boon hero. Then I took an illusion, protection and an earth. I was a dervish, but what I carried was pain invertor which helped.
But at the start of the mission I would run up the gate and flag my heros, then I would wait for Varesh or pull her to kill her watching out for that sandstorm skill which does a lot of dmg. After you beat her target her and start wearing her down when she turns into the paragon. Use pain invertor. Didn't get masters but I at least stayed away from those torment creatures. Staying up near the gate and pulling her was a good way to keep from having to fight those torment creatures. But if you do happen to fight them just concentrate on fight one and killing it before it does that call of torment skill.

I used 2 necro heroes, General Morgahn (of course), 2 monk & 2 ele henchies. The necros used enfeeble for condition, Parasitic Bond for hex, and discord for damage (115 dmg every 2 sec at 16 death magic). I set up General Morgahn with the discord skill (94dmg every 2 sec at 12 death magic), I may have also gave him some self protect skill but can't remember. I used my ele chara but any profession will work with a necro secondary. Equip enfeeble, parasitic bond, discord, and also put in necrosis (sunspear skill) I was able to put out 94 dmg with discord ever 2 sec (R12 death) and 84 dmg with necrosis every 2 sec (R8 sunspear).
Be sure to spread out hero's and henchies when flagging, don't group all together. Aggro the boss and keep her on you, do not let her get to your back line. Try not to aggro torment creatures but if you do then don't worry to much since discord will drop them very fast. Try to never agro more that 2 with the boss if possible.
The one thing to watch is the bosses heath bar. you will need to ensure that she has a hex and condition on her at all times or your heroes will not use discord. If one or the other drops off, simply reapply the condition or hex yourself and go back to spamming discord and necrosis. Note: sometimes the heroes AI is not that great at reapplying the hex and condition so you will have to be the one to monitor those and ensure they stay applied.
You can also give your necros a monk secondary for extra healing if needed or give them mesmer secondard with echo to make spamming discord easier.
Practice...If you have it set up right you should be able to run the mission in 2 minutes or less.

Flag the team up the hill when the first form dies ( remember to kill all the clerics ).
Then kill like 3 groups of patrol that passes you.
Then lure Varesh and keep her blinded and weakened.
Any patrol comes kill them fast, remember to change target and get your elementalist blind and weaken here again.
DPS skills wise it doesnt really matter.

^^ what wood said..You can kill all the torment demons if you are patient and wait for them...Varesh will wait on you.

well i got a run from some guy
but the way he did it was push everyone to the corner and pull varesh alone
have a tank take aggro and make sure she stays put
then beat her to death
blind helps, pain inverter, mentioned above will help burning weakness knockdowns
BHA ranger or interrupt mes will make it a bit easier

1. Kill all 3 clerics first.
2. Kill Prophet Varesh (dervish).
3. As soon as you kill her run up to the gate and don't move.
4. Ton of enemies will spawn from various portals around the map.
5. Wait at the gate and attack one group at a time.
6. If Commander Varesh (paragon) comes after you just retreat.
7. When all mobs are dead then attack her and mission is over.
People make mistake by trying to either take Commander Varesh ASAP and then got killed by mobs or they try to kill all the mobs at the same time with Varesh killing them.
