In the Developer updates log for 24 June 2008, one can read amongst other things:
In the Hall of Monuments, you will be able to choose to view your accomplishments by character or by account. This is a setting you’ll be able to switch back and forth.
Where? I haven't seen such a function...
Also, there is a topic about Account-based Accomplishments...
Because the Hall of Monuments displays accomplishments on a character-by-character basis, many players have felt strongly discouraged from playing multiple characters. To allow greater freedom in play style, we are changing the design for the Hall of Monuments. Accomplishments will be transferred to Guild Wars 2 on an account-by-account basis, and players will have the option of displaying their accomplishments by account or by character in the Hall of Monuments. (Please note that the armor statues in the Monument to Resilience will reflect the appearance of the character currently in the Hall of Monuments, not the character that originally displayed that armor set.)
Does the last part generally mean that if I put 1 set of presige armor in the hall on five DIFFERENT characters, it will count as five total in GW2... or what?
I'm pretty confused here, pls help me Obi-Wan :P
I'm going for a "full hall" on my main, that is putting in everything needed to fill the monuments with the maximum number of displayable items. I would also lika a new presige armor on a different character, but 75k in the sink is not that much fun actually when I'm going for the full hall on the main...
Ty for any if possible clarifications

It's coming. The announcement of the addition was made ages ago, but the update to implement it hasn't happened yet.

from that same page...
"Since the release of Eye of the North there has been a lot of discussion about how the Hall of Monuments works. We intend to address a few of the larger concerns raised by players. We are not able to announce a specific date at which these changes will be released, but we're explaining them now so that players can choose their play patterns accordingly."
eh, pamelf beat me to it. But old news is old, none the less.

Like, If you have two characters, lets say a monk and a ranger.
You buy armour A on your monk and armor B on your ranger.
You put them both to HoM.
When you enter HoM, you will see armour A on your monk and armour B on your ranger.
When you go to the account-based view, you will see both armors A and B on your monk/ranger.
The HoM stuff will be transfered to GW2 on an account-to-account basis, instead of character-to-character, which would be retarded.
Having a maxed out hall on your main is the same as having ½ maxed on your monk and the rest on your ranger. If you choose the account view of course.
Also; Anet said that they will first add Tormented Weapons to HoM then start working on the account-based view, so it should take a while.

Yang Whirlwind: There are quite enough threads about that Hom update and speculations on what when it will be implemented, what it will contain and how it will function. No need for another one of these! ... Closed!
