Capturing Avatar of Balth help

Well I have tried extremely unsuccessfully to capture this elite many a times and was wondering if anyone can offer help. Currently I have read many strategies but most of the skills I can't get because of we're I'm at in-game. My character so far has reached the quest Rally the Princes. Does anyone know a good build for my character that point in the game to capture the Avatar of Balthazar? Nothing helps with blinding and no one from my alliance or in-game wants to help me. Any kind of help will be appreciated.

looks like you have plenty of help already, but i can help too if they aren't available or can't for whatever reason. I just finished skill-capping all of elona, and the avatars are the most fun to get imo. Give me a shout, i'm online pretty much every night (west coast time) about 8-10p.

But i feel the need to point out that this is a terrible elite. you are way better off with lyssa, melandru, wounding or even reaper's. the benefits from Balthazar are mostly useless, and can easily be obtained from non-elite skills.

maybe so, but necessary for skill hunter title, as are many other "useless" elites

use general antimelee ,if he does to much dmg remeber weakness +fainthardness and u will have one pissed of melee atacker add ss,empathy,spoil victor(what i used),U can also agro him than run away and wait till his form ends than pown him hard,he will die faster because he wont have +40 armor,also barbs with a healthy amount of physicals will also make short work of him ,i prefer mm with bone fiends.U can also use blind to counter him.If all else fails u can always unlock it with 3k balthazar faction than buying an elite dervish tome,but its not worth it.

The reasons he deals shitloads of dmg is because 1. It's holy 2. He's a boss and 3. He uses eremites atk which when I first tried to cap this raped me. Just put blinding flash or something of the sort on a hero and spam it on him...take out him monks while this happens. Leave the boss for last if you think it'll take too long, otherwise atk him as soon as monks die.
