The footmen are literally right outside both gates, 2 archers up on the walls on the way to the flagstand, either side. Two archers either side or the guild lord bit entrance (different bases but same positiong. Then on the home side theres a knight on top of the steps, guild lord in the middle the bodyguard to his right, knight at the far wall along with an archer. Then up the gank way is another archer at the doors.
At the attacking sides base its pretty much exactly the same. Also the two footmen outside either gates can be aggroed so they can fight eachother (obviously thats quite a small area.

The OP may be asking about the various trader NPCs (how close together are storage, merchant, etc. upon entering the hall,) rather than GvG NPCs
The NPCs you use most often are annoyingly far apart in some hall layouts. (The Kurzick-themed one is a pain.)
As to the Uncharted Isle, if that's the one that looks like the Dajkah Inlet challenge mission, I seem to recall the various trader NPCs are fairly close together. I've visited friends' halls that used this map. It hasn't ever been my hall, so I'm not positive.
IIRC, Isle of the Dead (Catacombs theme) has the NPCs closest together. But it's dark and dreary; the ambient light makes colors look different and casts shadows that make characters' faces look strange.
We use the Warrior's Isle (I think that's the one - looks kind of like the training area outside GToB.) The rune trader is the only NPC that you have to walk a way to get to; the rest aren't bad. The colors and the lighting are bright but not blindingly so.
I wish they'd show you where the non-battle NPCs stand when you visit halls with the ambassador guy.

We have the Uncharted Isle guild hall, and all the trader NPCs available from the guild lord are unlocked. The Henchmen, Xunlai Agent, and Chest are to the Guild Lord's left on the platform above the pool, and the Guild Emblemer, Canthan Ambassador, Festival Hat maker, and Priest of Balthazar are to his right. The remaining merchants and traders, as well as the Luxon/Kurzick NPCs, are scattered around the perimeter of the pool in front of the gate.
You have a guest invite.
If you are unable to accept the invitation before it expires, I have uploaded a short video here showing their placement. It's only 45 seconds, but the file is almost 54 MB. The text is already fuzzy; I didnt want to risk illegibility compressing it further.
