I've been having this issue with my laptop for a while now. Whenever i set my laptop on High Performance mode, it shuts off after a random amount of time while playing a game, but even sometimes while just on the web. It could be overheating, i don't know what the normal temperatures are but while running Guild Wars on High Performance my Core temperatures steadily rise, just now before closed Guild Wars it was at 90 degrees. Here are my specs if needed:
Sager NP2096
Vista Home Premium 64 bit
Intel Core 2 Duo CPU T7500 2.2 GHz 2.2 GHz
2 Gb of Ram
nVidia 8600M GT
Thanks

well, 90C is definitely not the correct temperatures for any component.
btw, is that the CPU temperature, or the graphic chip temperature? either way, it looks like your computer is not properly ventilated. perhaps you are using it on a poor surface (a bed, for instance) or the air intake fan is broken.

Its the CPU temperatures and it happens no matter what the surface. The only time it ever shuts off though is on High Performance. Would that push the heat over the edge and make it shut off?
Oh yeah, how can I tell if the fan is broken? Luckily it's still under warranty.
