As the title would imply, I am looking for some new permasin farming areas. I have looked at the pinned topic and looked at the permasin farms there, unfortunately after farming them for multiple weeks straight for hours a day you get pretty sick of the same scenery =P.

So... where do you all farm with your permasin?

Also, anyone have an effective build for Vaettir farming? The standard sliver armor concept is hardly effective in hard mode for myself, generally taking 4-5 minutes to clear out ~36 of them, was looking for something faster, but due to their natural immunity to common degens I am having issues.

While I am at it, is there a specific method to directing sliver damage to particular mobs?

Same build, change earth for fire & water (9 and 9 or 10 and 10, dont remember), just put frigid armor, and burning speed to autoinmolate. Burning will do. If you trap the group near a wall, you could use a rodgort hex and some fire skills like lava font. Dunno the details, as i do with ele.

For any places... you could try raptors, and mostly places with lot of foes. Halcyon job, Sskai, Gwen Bosses, Secret Lair of Snowmen (first 2 waves).... pretty much that way.

Of course, there is a wide variety of boss farming you can do.

I've used it to get the ice breaker and the frozen fan. It can farm pretty much everything from Droknars north to the frozen lake where the mighty grawls are.

Sorrows furnace/Grenth's foot print greens don't go for much but it can still be fun to hunt down the yakslapper. Scatter in hard mode is a problem here, however.

You can decimate all the destroyers except the destroyers of lives in GOLEM to farm for cores

Add a commando hero and put in Ural's Hammer and it can handle a lot of sacnoth valley in hard mode. Your only real problem is making sure you don't try to face down more then one Charr archer for more than few shots and learning how to arrange the charrs so sliver takes the healers and rezers as quickly as possible. This is slow but there are 3 or four charr bosses in the stronghold that I like to farm. I haven't tried any of the burning forest with it, however.

Tomb of Primeval kings is already mentioned in the sticky as A/Me but it is faster as A/E and a lot of fun (may be much more profitable when favor runs out as it would be about the only place to obtain ectos that would not need a scroll for entry - plus great place for tomes, dyes, lockpicks and the highly prized ogre-slaying knife)

Icy dragon sword farming if you have not tried that can be a blast. Long run but fairly fast as the only things that can hurt you on the way are the bird archers.

Quite a few spots on Shing Jea Island in hard mode (minister cho's estate has given me quite few golds and you can vanquish it with perma)

kappas in maishang hills (this is slow as they are resistance to earth damage but they drop monstrous fangs and claws at a fairly decent rate and you can take out woespreader for a chance at his green while you are at it)

Naphui quarter mission or the vermin for celestial items

Jade brother hood in Wajjun bazaar seem to drop superior runes fairly often

Oh, and with a commando hero you can also do some of DoA (in normal mode only and it is slow)

Those are the ones off the top of my head - don't know which you have tried but hope it helps.

Mesmer build is faster and much more safe in Tombs, as the stupid graspings use [fear me] make u lose too much energy......i use the common a/me build and in HM drops are great and it's not that slow as with a/e.....But still i cannot kill Chaos Wurms in HM with a/me build....they degen too slow and hex and conditions expires too fast on them.

Places/bosses i know to a/e farm

Witmans folly - dont use vipers or radiation field as the necros there will shove it back on you - good for runes
north kryta - either outside la or leave via d`allesio and you can farm the imps ( keep outside of inferno range - easier to activate sliver and nudge forward till it hits them and you`ll suss slivers range without being singed ) and the caromi in hm easily.
mineral springs in nm avoiding the tengu.
Raptors , all norn area if shadowbombing , accolyte of dwayna .
There are quite a few places in nf and cantha and best way is to pick a campaign then check on wiki what foes are present.
Theres only a few foes to watch for - any with sigs ( mes and monks ) and any with aoe and enchant stripping via touch or 2nd effect .. these will be listed skill wise for foes.

I don't know if it still works but run from kondur crossroads north to the fortress of Jahai in the Jahai bluffs in HM, kill the kournan elite in there(might work to run from the Sunspear sanctuary, I don't know how many ntouka and mandragors are on the way though) . I usually get 2-3(up to 5 or 6 once) gold runes, lots of grape and blue runes(lots of survivor and attunement runes),lots of R9 grape and gold NF loot(scimitars of various flavors, shields Fiery Gladiuses, ect), sunspear points, there's an ele boss to kill in there, some decent salvage, lots of tanned hides and cloth, sometimes leather and silk or linen. To start with you can take out the bugs or not, I usually skip them, then DO NOT PISS OFF THE NTOUKA, they'll 1 shot kill you. If you pop the Mandagors, keep running, stop only to reapply SF, they'll give up once they headbut you a couple times, feigned neutrality or maybe the new by ural's hammer will help you to survive this part(you won't really need a running skill, you just have to survive long enough for them to headbutt you, then they get bored and go back to their pop up point if you've run far enough).

Once you get to the fort, agro the elites, go up the ramp, over the bridge to the shrine and take the bounty. This ensures you spawn in an advantageous place if you go down, and you get some sunspear points out of the run. It also pulls most of the kournan elites from under the bridge up to the ramp. Go back across the bridge(the ones up by the fort wall will break agro if you go all the way to the shrine but you can hold them as far as the bridge, the ones up near the gate wont go to the bridge, save them for later when you take the admiral).

When you got em grouped on the bridge take out the paragons first, they use stand your ground and never surrender and are hard to kill on their own. If you take a few warriors and dervs down first instead of the paragons, that's ok, just save the scribes for last, they die the easiest and fuel your Sliver while killing the dervs and paras(the scribes and paragons will separate into nice little clumps for you too). Don't wand or attack the dervishes, just try to body block them when they retreat, they have armor of sanctity and veil of thorns, hit them and they turn invincible. When it comes time to deal with the Scribes, stand just outside their aftershock range, inch toward them untill sliver just starts kicking in, then stop. Any closer, they hit you. They will still try and aftershock you(it looks cool, you can see the effect stop just at your feet) but it won't hit, they can't heal themselves effectively, and they should drop in short order unsupported by their paragons.

I don't know if you can maintain the energy demand of SF anymore with just the enchanting staff and you can't get close enough for daggers or scythes on account of the scribes, maybe take an earth offhand and a zealous spear of enchanting.

Once the mobs on the bridge are dead, go up through the gate and hit the boss, same plan, warriors and dervs clump around you, aproach the boss very carefully, then work the paragons, then the melee, then the scribes.

Energy shud be fine - you only have to watch it and make sure u have 35 nrg for casting gos+dp+sf+gol ( gos means sliver and eboh are free ) and if it means waiting for more energy before gol+sliver+eboh then do so.I still perma sliver farm now but farmed kournans elsewhere so it should work there - im temped to try there later now.

Theres a huge amount of places to perma farm - just watch for pbaoe an touchers an aoe stripping.
prophs - tengu , grawls in witmans folly , ice imps
factions - naga on shing jea , mantids , foes around jade sea , kirins , dragon moss
nf - almost most places - djarin estates 6 bosses can be perma sliver easily in hm , margo temple indesolation can be solo - just kill heros before entering ( near res shrine on sand ) and u exit wurm an run in an activate shrines an kill them.
eotn - several places.
Thats just naming a few on each camopagn.
Easiest way is to go onto wiki and go thru zones and see what foes are there - see what can hurt you an work from there and then try them.

Btw snowmen lair - u can sliver whole dungeon with radfield added - without bothering with chest an havin a few foes left i managed an avg 19 min run from start to end boss.
If you want chest then its a lot longer as u need to make sure npc has clear path thru.
