Best place to buy items/weapons?

Been round all the usual haunts, kamadan ect but tryin to get hold of certain items seems hopeless these days, one time i couldn't keep up with the amount of people selling there goods in the trade window, these days your lucky to get 10 people selling their wares. Has trade moved to an area which i dont know about?, been away a while so plz bear wid me.

No, Kamadan is still the main trading place. Maybe you're just not on when everyone else is anymore.

I just use the buy/sell forums they have here, it saves me from sitting there all day.

Seems to me like Kamadan is still the main trading town, followed by LA. District 1 is the hot spot. Whenever I've looked, I've found American D1 to be more active than any of the other English-language districts or the International District, but that could be a time of day issue. Peak hours are when you can't keep up with the window. :/

A couple of suggestions:

1) Try making your chat window bigger. I won't even attempt to watch the trade spam without hitting F11, then going to the interface tab and making the chat window fill about half the screen. It still goes by fast, but I find that makes it easier to just scan in general. If you see an ad of interest, it hasn't scrolled off the window before you can read it more carefully and find the name to send a whisper.

2) Put up a short WTB ad that fits in the Party Search window. Doesn't hurt to repeat your WTB ad to the trade channel once in a while, too, but the ad will stay in Party Search. (Tip - hit enter and then up arrow to activate chat and repeat your last chat entry.) Not all, but some sellers do watch the WTB ads in there.

3) Finally, I'd agree with Marty - post a wtb thread on the Ventari's Buy forum here. Whenever I'm in the market for anything less common than the popular mods (fortitude, sundering, enchanting, etc.,) I post a thread there. Perhaps I've just been lucky, but I've had a lot of success finding sellers that way. I think the only thing I ever asked to buy here that I didn't get within a week turned out to be something that doesn't exist.


Oh, and depending on what it is you're looking for, there may be other places to try. If I were looking for, say, a shocking dagger tang (something most people don't keep around for resale) I'd try towns where a lot of farmers are likely getting daggers and merching them ... the Raptor farmers in Rata Sum spring to mind. Of course, this requires that you know of a place where a lot of folks are likely to have the kind of thing you're looking for.

I get what you're saying. Kamadan is just a bunch of people selling tormented shields and voltaic spears and everlasting tonics, and other bullshit worth 100k+xx. If you want to buy a gold or a green or any average item that goes for about 10k you're basically going to be spamming for a loooooong time.

Sometimes you can find stuff like that on guru auction, if you're lucky, for a decent price, but what's there is mostly fiery bowstrings and stuff.

Like Gift3d stated, Kamadan isn't the place to buy cheap stuff/low end golds. Try Ascalon inter1, LA1, Yaks Bend and that place in Factions. (sorry the name escapes me)

Yes, I've had some good luck in LA D1 the last couple weeks, bought some nice things AND sold some stuff just from watching the WTBs (5 SF mes greens for 8.5k to 1 person - woot!). I hate adverting WTS myself, so I was a little surprised that I was able to get rid of so many things relatively painlessly. Course, it helps that I happened to have things people were looking for.

I have tried the Ventari's Buy forum here but with no luck maybe the Cobalt staffs ain't dropping as they should but i'll give that another shot.

Cobalt Staff is fairly rare. As far as I know, it only drops from one dungeon, and it isn't a dungeon people do often. Darkrime Delves doesn't have much of value from it to be farmed, so it is typically only done by people filling in their book. I wouldn't expect you to find one quickly.
