Add reputation books for Kurzick/Luxon

Similar to the rep books you can fill out in eye of the north, in order to reduce the grind of these 2 titles they should make rep books. You fill the book by getting masters on all the missions (including both the luxon and kurzick ones) and can then turn them in for rep points to either side. Now, in eotn they're worth 20k points in nm and 30k points in hm, however the max rep for those titles is a measly 160k. I would suggest that a full handbook (keep in mind that means masters on every mission) would be worth maybe 150k in nm, and 250k in hm. Everyone who currently has the protector title for cantha would automatically get a nm book filled out, and guardian title holders would get a hm book filled out (so if you have both titles, you would get a nm and a hm book to turn in) just like they did when they changed the reward for the eotn books and gave those who had previously filled them out a second set to turn in for the higher reward.

If they want to limit it, they can make it so you can only turn in one set of books per character (nm and hm), thus you would have to get multiple characters through the game if you wanted to keep turning in books.

I know they're working on reducing grind, I hope they implement something like this.

I don't like this idea, because then you would have to do Luxon missions to gain Kurzick reputation, and vice versa. Not to mention Luxons/Kurzicks care little (mostly for the Luxons) what happens in the Dragon Empire.

I think it would be better just to give Faction for doing Arborstone/Seabed/Eternal Grove/Hatchery/Unwaking Waters*faction given to the side you start on* the first time you do the mission *like 1k for NM Normal, 2k for NM Expert, 3k NM Master, 4k HM Normal, 5k HM Expert, 6k HM Masters*, those that did these would just talk to the NPC that explains the mission to get the points *If it goes over, you have to donate then come back to get the rest*

Linsey said she's thinking about improving the Challenge Missions' rewards as is, along with increasing the Faction Cap to go to per rank in the title (like for Balthazar Faction).

And hopefully there will be Faction to be gained by doing/completing Urgoz/Deep. (like a bounty *without the health/regen* and then 5k NM completion 10k HM completion).

All my numbers going straight to the Faction not the Title of course, and based on the assumption that the Faction Cap will be raised per rank.

Interesting idea, but may be unneccessary due to the title rebalancing that's coming out next month. Since Lindsey specifically mentioned the luxon/kurzick titles in her blog, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that these titles are gonna be less time consuming to get.

if they rebalance the titles well enough then this wouldn't be necessary but if they dotn do it well enough something like this could be helpful. this is a after all a good way to reduce grind.

If this update goes the same way the HoM went, they are just gonna reducethe max amount for the title or something to make it easier to get it.

In the HoM update, i tought that adding tormented weapons to it would give the players having spent the time getting them something more, but no. Instead we can only add tormented instead of destroyer weapons. Money sink and QQ plug for the players wanting to add something more then destroyer weapons to their HoM.

So if it goes the same way, get ready for a fast chopped up job on that title.

No i dont have any tormented weapons. I just feel that the players who have spent lots of time getting all of tormented weapons got rip off in this.

Same will go for the players already having the max Luxon/Kurzick title. They grinded those title, so should we, FFF or anyway you want.

Anything that makes a title easier to obtain get a big NO from me.

I feel that we are at the point where, if we all QQ enough, they will implement anything in the game just to shut us up till GW2.

I would love it but you are missing some fact

there are people who currently have r12 kurz/lux

what will happen to them

they gave THOUSANDS of hours of their lives into this

and you will make this a cheap skill to obtain in 10 hour or wat?

Books are a great idea.

So they must be added to all campaigns.

- "Complete Adventurer's Guide to all Professions" for Prophecies. (Exp and Gold only)
- "Report to the Emperor" in Factions. (Kurzick or Luxon)
- "Battle Diaries" for Nightfall. (Lightbringer or Sunspear)

The main reason? People that help others making missions deserve the reawrd of getting extra rewards when making all missions again.

The extent of grind some titles have in GW should have never existed. So anything reducing it for those that play the game the game it was meant to be played deserve to get more points than those that just make things like HFFF all day long, chewing, chewing, all day long...

They should do kurz/lux vaquish books, so say when you do all kurz vqs you can trade in that book for 200k kurz points or something.

Seeing as there isn't many missions then i think that should not happen, or the reward should be scaled down from your original post.

If there were 4-8 kurick only dungeons and a similar number of them for the luxon, it might work. But unless you reused all the dungeons for EoTN, that's too much work for anet.

It also might work if you add repeatable quests for the book, but that's still a ton of work.

Plus you'd have to convince Anet to go back and tweak a game they've pretty much forgotten about.

Rep books seem more exclusive to EoTN of all games. I think it's better to request a little improvement on faction gaining like some from the elite exploration that are available only to the players of that faction. It's really that much of a problem, in my opinion. We get some points from AB and competitive missions. We can agree that it does get repetitive, it's all still fun. Even though you're in the same place you meet up with different foes each time. I highly don't think the book idea for factions is necessary.

Uh, does the survivor title ring a bell? When people used to actually have to PLAY the game and survive, as opposed to a couple runs boxing where you have like 1% chance of lagging out and dying (can be done in a day, I did it) I'm not saying make it take 10 hours I gotta have it in a day OMG OMG. I'm actually just shy of r9 myself. I know they're working on reducing the grind for these titles - it was just a thought for a way to do that, as opposed to actually chopping the titles so the people who got 10million faction aren't totally pissed cause now you only need 5 million faction for max, or whatever. They already did it once, when they changed it to give double faction for donating, ie donate 5k faction get 10k towards your title. Were the people who maxed it before that pissed that they did 2X the amount of work for the same thing? Were you QQing then about it?

"Pre-nerf" is incorrect. It's pre-buff.

This is a good idea considering how limited the faction farming options are and how grindy the system is. AB, HFFF and competitive missions are not enjoyable for many people.

Not to highjack the thread, I have a similar (expanded) proposal:

Cantha: Give players a book to fill with HM or NM missions from the entire continent which can then be handed in to a Cavalon or House Zu Heltzer NPC. The faction gain should scale similar to Eye of the North books whereby a filled book will give significanlty more points than a partially filled book.

Elona: Provide the same system as with the Canthan suggestion above, but allow players to hand in their books to an NPC in Sunspear Sanctuary to increase their Sunspear title rank or an NPC in Chantry of Secrets to increase their Lightbringer rank.

Kind of like a 'thanks' for being a hero and saving the world from a corrupted bodyguard or evil god.

The number of Kurz/Lux/SS/LB points should be high enough so as that players need not spend 4 hours per night for 3 months flagging heroes, capping shrines or killing monoliths, yet conservative enough so that the title can't be maxed in a couple of days. The faction cap should also be upped to 100,000 or more.

Finally, let the books be retroactive for characters that have already completed the campaign.

Not a bad idea, as long as the books work retroactively. If players already have master at some of all missions, let them get the pages for it.

I know plenty of people have already done Max Luxon/Kurzick, but it's a really insane feat.

Getting half way on that title compared to Sunspear is like a 500:1 time sink ratio, and getting max is closer to 40:1. The Faction title is account-wide, but I don't have 40 characters.

I like the idea of the books, and they would be helpful to many people, but it doesn't solve the underlying problem of a huge, huge amount grind. It's not a challenging title, just time consuming.

My suggestion:

-Rescale the title so that the first tier is 10,000 Faction, and the Max tier to 1,000,000 Faction. Make it front-loaded.
-Give a rare bonus minipet to anyone who has reached (or anyone who ever reaches) 5,000,000.
-Give a second rare bonus minipet to anyone who has also reached (or anyone who also ever reaches) 10,000,000.

Example tier structure:
(In Faction donated

1. 10,000
2. 25,000
3. 50,000
4. 75,000
5. 100,000
6. 125,000
7. 150,000
8. 225,000
9. 325,000
10. 500,000
11. 750,000
12. 1,000,000

Without the current h/fff getting the kurzick title would take an insane amount of time as far as i can see.

It is a title i would like to get mostly because it is account based but i can not see it happening because a title like that is almost completely out of reach for people who play only a few hours a week., and i do not have that kind of time to spare these days.

This is taken from wiki.

Quote:
# Assuming all faction is donated to your Guild (and thus gaining double points toward the title), to gain the title Savior of the Kurzicks, it will take 12500 repetitions of the quest Securing Echovald Forest. At a 90 second turnover, this equals 312.5 hours, or approx. 13 days to achieve. Repeating the quest that many times will yield 1,875Platinum from the quest rewards alone.
