dueling. yay or nay?

can you duel in guild wars? like go to another player and request a duel. if he/she accept you fight until someone wins, without having to go to random arenas.

Only in your guild hall, as a scrimmage. Otherwise, no.

and then, as haxor said, starting a scrimmage match

the form of dueling is 1 vs 1 in your GH, you need the other person either in your guild or be a guest member.

Good enough, I guess, although it would be nice going to random people in outpost challenging them to duels.

The idea is flawed in that gw is a team game, so winning in 1v1 does not make you the better player. The only way to really test that would be to go in with henchies/heroes with identical builds and see who won that way.

Thats my opinion anyway.

I was only looking at it form a fun, time-passing point of view, like when you're waiting to get a full group for a mission.

The problem is, it would be seized upon by all the idiotic players who think 1v1 means something. We already have people screaming, in both PvE and PvP, about how they could "1v1 you n00b!", we don't need to encourage the behavior.
