The adding of an account
SkaterScream
Hello Everyone ^^
Throughout a period of about 2 years I have bought all 4 Guild Wars (counting EotN)
But back then I didn't know it was possible to link accounts, and now I would really like to.
Is there a way to link an existing account to another existing account?
Please let me know,
-Skaterscream

I am not sure about that but my initial thought is no. Once it is set up it is set up.

nope, that's not possible... however my friend had the same problem, and he sent a request to Anet, asking if they could merge his accounts... so they did, but he lost all his characters...
SkaterScream
with loosing all your chars do you mean all the accounts that were added to the main acc or also the chars of the main account?
Darcy
I believe that it goes this way:
1. you select one account to be your ONLY account.
2. ArenaNet then issues/adds new codes for the other campaigns/expansions/add-ons you own to that account.
3. ArenaNet then blocks access to all other accounts. You cannot access those characters, items, etc. ever again.
The end result is one account with its four characters intact and the rest of the characters slots (from the new keys) are empty.

Wow, that sounds exactly like what I want
Well, keeping chars would be better but hey, ya can't have everythin
If I would like to do this, how could I best contact ArenA net?

i think thw way they merge is the way darcy said, this does mean you would loose a)the chars on the other account and B) lose the character slots.

Assuming it's three accounts, each with 4 slots, then the final merged account would have only 8 slots, which is standard for a fully upgraded account. 9 if the nightfall pre-order is included. Only the characters on the main account would be kept. The other accounts would be, in essence, perma-banned, and new keys issued. This is, of course, if support decides to do it. From my understanding, it's on a case by case basis only, and you more than likely will need to send them copies of the cd-keys to prove it's really your account.

You contact Support and I would assume that it's on the PlayNC website. You can get there direct or through guildwars.com support.
As sykoone said, Support will decide on a case-by-case basis. While they have been known to do it for accidental multi-account creation, I don't know how they would react to such a request after a long ownership period.
You can only ask and see what happens. And, again as sykoone stated, be prepared to provide concrete proof of ownership. They don't merge hacked or second-hand accounts.

Proving ownership won't be a problem, thank you all for your help, I'll go see what the people at ArenAnet decide
Thanks a lot,

Just my 2 (euro)cents ...
If I was in the situation that you describe I would probably buy one of those new 4-in-1 offers that contain all the three campaigns + EotN and add that to my primary account. I wouldn't delete characters on secondary accounts but demote them to mules, providing much needed storage. That would also keep birthday presents dropping on schedule instead of resetting them. Small investment, lots of convenience.
