Is the Trilogy worth buying?

I played Guild Wars when it first came out and loved the Prophecies campaign. Are there still people playing anything but Eye of the North? I recently wanted to reinstall my GW, but can't seem to get it to recognize my login. I was considering buying the trilogy to play this game again. I don't want to log in and find that no one is in any of the areas for these 3 games. I love GW and want to come back, but don't want to be all alone in all of these chapters. Can anyone give me some insight as to what would be the best way to go? If I want to play I need a new version of the game. Thanks in advance for any insight.

For your old login, make sure you use the proper account name, your e-mail address may have changed, but the account name would still be the one you used at that time.
Because GW has a lot more territory to it now, between the 3 chapters and EotN, people are more spread out. You would often find yourself to be alone in many of the more remote areas. There's not as many PUGs doing just simple missions or quests any more, so you would either want to set up some Heroes and Henchmen to go with you, or you'd want to join a Guild to have people to play with on a regular basis.
Another note about Heroes - if you buy the trilogy it would probably be best to start out in Nightfall so you can get some Heroes early. Make sure you properly equip your heroes with useful weapons, runes, insignias, and skills. Don't just throw any old crap on them - too often, people give their Heroes a bunch of crap and themn complain that they don't work
It's a lot easier to form a PUG to do a quest or mission, if you can fill the party with good Heroes. Henchmen are actually good enough (in NM) that a PUG could take a couple of them too, but people generally have a negative attitude against Henchmen

Yup peeps are certainly spread out a lot more ive not seen a 2nd district in a coop mission in 2 long :s
My point being peeps are spread out and u may find it a pain in the arse if u can never get a good team to do quests/missions i suggest starting in Nf just as Quaker suggested.
But i would certainly buy the series GW still has a lot to offer on the pve side

You should be able to access Prophesies with your old login/password. Since I first bought GW, over 3 years ago, I have had 2 computer upgrades and a couple reformatting my Hard Drives. Each time I downloaded the client from the GW web site and got on from there, no problem. I, actually, stopped playing for 9 months and when I reinstalled GW, I connected and their servers had my stats just as I had left it. The only explanation has to be that you can't remember your login or your password.
Now, if you can get a good deal on it, I would buy the trilogy or the GOTY edition that is coming out, if it hasn't already been released.
As far as doing the missions, I always try and use heroes and henchies. I avoid pugs at all costs. While there are some great people still in the game, a lot of the ones that joined later are total jerks and I prefer to play without them. The game was a lot different in the beginning when there was a certain comradery among the players. Having said that, the game is better than ever.
Having played all the missions and most of the quests, I have gone back to Prphesies and Cantha to max out titles. I am currently working on getting all the Elite skills for my Ele. The game is still fresh.
I would suggest that if you get the full game, or get back on line with what you have, that you go to the GW wiki and do some reading. For one thing, if you can reconnect with your original login/password, you will have some presents waiting for you in your inventory.

Thanks for the replies. I loved the game, and really miss it. I remember back in the day that I was loggin into the game using an email address. I don't remember the login for my original game. I have another PlayNC account that I played Tabula Rasa and Dungeon runners with. I'm going to get the Trilogy and put it on that account. Hopefully I can find a good group of people to play with because I always loved the Prophecies missions. Thanks again.

You might also want to join a guild that is actively doing the things you like to do such as PVE, PVP, titles, UW or FoW, Etc.
This way in case there are no PUG's available you can always ask for help in guild or alliance chat.
I also agree that acquiring and outfitting as many heroes as you can can be very advantageous.
Welcome back!

little off topic but if i buy the trilogy would i get 3 different cd keys or just one?
Rak Orgon of Beowulf
i think it is just one trilogy key, but i'm not 100% on that. I would say its worth t, even with GW2 coming out in a little while. it'll keep you entertained until then hopefully.
As stated above Nightfall and EoTN probably have the most activity in them, escpecialy the latter areas in NF.

Good advice from the guys earlier. If you're US based, the trilogy would be worth the investment. If you're in Europe, the new pack contains the trilogy and the gwen expansion.
There's plenty to see and do, but as with above, get yourself plenty of heroes starting off. In nf you'll get a good few before you hit lvl 10, and once at this level you can unlock MOX the GOLEM outside any of the three major cities and also journey into the gwen territories where all heroes are lvl 20.
Personally I prefer to level up heroes as much as possible while playing through the campaigns and hold off using the lvl 20 ones from eotn til I reach lvl 20 myself as much as possible.
There's also a little fire imp you can use to help with levelling up new characters since alot of people playing through prophs are doing so with chars from other games. if you have the trilogy or complete collection you can use him by typing /bonus.

Anyone else who is considering the trilogy to start GW, check out Gamestop. I bought the Trilogy for 49.99 and they gave me Eye of the North for 9.99. I saved $20 buying them together. I'm really enjoying the Prophecies campaign all over again right now. I'm surprised that there are a bunch of people still hanging around Ascalon and such.
Thank you all again for the great responses. See you in game!

My roomate just purchased the guild wars trilogy (got sick of watching me play) The trilogy is quite the deal.. 3 games for 49.99 at Gamestop and you get the Bonus Weapon's, MOX the Golem and a Everlasting Summon Fire Imp that lets you summon a Fire Imp once an hour (untill your level 20). Pretty cool bonus item for leveling characters.
I have all 3 games and EoTn and i dont have an Everlasting Summon Fire Imp
So yeah..I'd say the Trilogy is the way to go for new players.
