Some of the shops in my local high street have started putting Christmas decorations up, Christmas items on the shelves, and Christmas adverts on the tv...good to see this madness hasn't crept into the online gaming world...wouldn't want to see Wintersday being advertised now.
Halloween is the best festival in GW, and having it for a slightly longer period this year is great for those who have busy real-lives and usually miss out on events. Fingers-crossed that the Mad King has some new jokes this year too.

If I remember correctly, you only need to stand in the mushroom circle for the duration of the Mad King's visit to get the hat. Doing the emotes during the visit only gets you extra treats in your inventory.

ahh good ole Halloween...the poor mans way to drunkard! R1 cost me about 2k total, the rest came from events. Wintersday is good too...gonan farm me some termite legs, sentient roots and ornate necklaces now excuse me i have about 1500 mins of booze to clear out of my storage *delphi staggers out of the forums*

And you'll also get some ToT bags for afking when you do nothing during the Simon Says game and you are supposed to do nothing. So make sure to have 2 free invintory slots.

The point is that some times glitch/weird things happen, and deaths that shouldn't count gets counted. Better safe than sorry.

All you have to do is leave your character in the Green Mushroom circle for the hat and some extra ToT bags....not exactly that hard.

Also, even though the finale is on a holiday, every country that I know that celebrates Halloween does not get that day off work/school. So quit your belly aching Sjeng. This is how every holiday has been and everybody in the world is in the same situation as you. Remember the event runs for 24 hours, so you have plenty of time to go to the finale in the evening.

- Warrior maybe to 14 sword 13 str and change healsig to lion's comfort
- Ranger to 14 exp, 10 ws, 10 marks
- Ele to 14 fire, 11 water, 9 es
- Sin to 14 dagger 11 crit 9 shadow
- Paragon to 14 spear 10 command 10 lead
- Dervish to 14 scythe 12 myst 6 earth, and replace Chilling Victory (because it was nerfed to wind prayers) with Victorious sweep

2- there will be collector npc's in Lions Arch and Kamadan that will swap certain collectible drops (such as decayed orr emblems) for Halloween consumables and party stuff, like booze, sweets and drinks that turn your head into a pumpkin.

Towards the bottom, it tells you what to collect, and whom to give it to.
And yeah, it's the info from last year, but there's no reason to believe it's changed after a few years of being the same.

And yes, they did promise us a hat npc once that should stay for a week after an event ended. Never seen one (I think there was 1 holiday that had one... can't remember).
