You cant just buy eye of the north and play. Eye of the north is an expansion and you MUST have another guild wars game to add eotn on to.

If you don't own any of the Guildwars games you won't be able to play Eye of the North on its own. You'll need to have either Prophecies, Factions or Nightfall.

If you do have one of these chapters than you can add Eye of the North to your account. EotN will come with an access key that needs to be added to an existing account.

Your question about eotn has ben answered..as for the warrior or elementalist question, depends really..do you want to get in peoples face and bash them with an axe,or would you rather burn things?

warriors are good when you like to get up close and in their grills, elementalists on the other hand are good at laying down the hurt from far away, and doing damage over an area.

Well, my goal here is to get an access key, just that, but the thing is, that eye of the north is the only one available at the nearest store, so if i buy it, will the access key tht comes with it work to create a guildwars account?

I dont have any other GW games but i already downloaded the client, either way all i need now is an access key right? i mean eye of the north, nightfall, prophecies and factions are just patches right?

All i need is an access key.

Eye of the North is an expansion, in the vein of expansions in other games. In order to access the content you need one of the full GW games on your account.

There are 3 full games in the Guild Wars series and one expansion. The games have a storyline which combines all three full games but you can start an account with any one of these and play them in any order.

The games are:
GuildWars (1st installment, usually referred to as Prophecies)
GuildWars Factions (2nd installment)
GuildWars Nightfall (3rd installment)

You need one of these to open an account, and also to be able to play eye of the north.

You can add access keys for all three games and the expansion to one account, but eye of the north must be added to an account that already has a game.

In the US there's a trilogy pack just out recently with all three games. Eye of the North can be purchased seperately.

In Europe there was a full game pack including the expansion.

You can also purchase all 3 games and the expansion online at plaync.com

There's different features in each of the games and expansion, but it's worth playing through each one in your order of preference.

The reason why you need one of the other games to play eye of the north is that you cannot create new characters for eye of the north, you must import them from one of the other games.

For all the details, check out the forums on this site or go to http://wiki.guildwars.com

If you have any more questions please ask.

Get an access key for one campaign and eye of the north, then either install from your disc, or from the website, either one is fine.

You need an access key from either Prophecies, Factions or Nightfall, in order to play. The access key from Eye of The North alone will not grant you access to the game.

To be able to create an account for GW, you need a key from either Guild Wars: Prophecies, GW: Factions or GW: Nightfall. An Eye of the North key will not allow you to create an account - it will merely allow you to upgrade your current account.

There Is A New Build Avail [able]

The cd that comes with the games is only the client (which you downloaded) plus the .DAT file that was current when the cd was written. The CD itself, is just a timesaver when loading the game to your computer. Access keys are they important thing. There are different access keys for the different games, however.

An access key from the original Guild Wars game ("Prophecies" / Chapter 1) will give you access to that storyline, which takes place mostly on the continent of Tyria. With this you can create a character of one of the 6 original/core classes (Warrior, Elementalist, Monk, Mesmer, Necromancer, Ranger).

An access key from the second Guild Wars game ("Factions" / Chapter 2) will give you access to that storyline, which takes place mostly on the continent of Cantha. This introduces the character classes of Assassin and Ritualist, though you can still create characters of the core classes as well.

An access key from the third Guild Wars game ("Nightfall" / Chapter 3) will give you access to that storyline, which takes place mostly on the continent of Elona. This introduces the classes Dervish and Paragon, and introduces Heroes to the game (customizable NPCs). You can also still create characters from the original 6 core classes.

An access key from Eye of the North can be added to an account which contains any or all of the above campaigns. EotN is simply an expansion, cannot be used stand-alone (unlike the 3 full campaigns above). You cannot create a new character here, it is simply designed for extra content for existing characters (as well as create a slight bridge of storyline between the existing games and the future game of Guild Wars 2).

An account can contain a combination of access keys from any of the above, though as stated you cannot have an account with just EotN on it. If an account has multiple campaigns unlocked on it, then your characters from go from one storyline to the next if you so choose (look up "Port" on the wiki).

to make a long story short- as soon as u d/l the client u will have all the games basic stuff on your comp. the access key(s) you provide will give you access to that campain. there are 3 campaign keys(1 at least is required) and 1 expansion key (add on, requires campaign key).

Yes, you need to be online for the client to even load.
