Esc Key

So [Esc] is the default (and my) key for canceling actions, right?

For some reason, mine has trouble - When I press it, first it closes my minimap (without canceling the action), then I have to hit it about three more time before it cancels my skill. This is annoying when I get diversioned.

Does anyone know why this might be happening?

B/c you have other windows open. It closes them first before canceling you skill. It is "cancelling" the windows. This is normal.

So... I have to close all windows while I'm playing PvP? O.o

ya, unfortunately. the ESC key is the universal key to quitting things, a lot of old games had ESC key as the quitting key. In GW the ESC key closes the window, thats its firt function, then acts to cancel the action.

no, you can disable the "close windows when you hit esc key" option

Just party and minimap, but I kinda need party don't I? (yes, yes, watch the field, I know, but it makes it a lot easier to tell if I need to break out my res sig)

The Escape key doesn't close your party window, it closes windows like Inventory, Quest Log, Mini-map, World Map. etc.

But if there is an option to disable this, then I guess your problem is solved

Usually works for me, but when i get diversioned I spam escape lol.
