Guild Wars for The IPhone, Blackberry, other mobiles
Phantom Flux
I know what some of your are thinking. That would be sweet, but wouldn't that kill our mobile's memory if not the entire phone?
I was thinking some sort of fun Guild Wars Application for the Iphone, blackberry (I have an iphone) similar to War of World Craft having something such as a WOW calculator or something similar to a gigapet. LOL! Just something for us GW Fanatics to carry with us when we are too far from a PC, or some sort of something where we can atleast check up our guild halls and/or characters.
If you are a guild leader and are skeptic of handing your guild over to anyone or having GW automatically send your account over, this could benefit. I wish I had a laptop or was able to access GW on any pc, even at some strict internet Cafe, but thats just a few dreams away (maybe?).
Let's not to mention, IT WOULD BE GREAT MONEY FOR ANET!!! I'm sure Anet would say that's its about the happiness of the consumer more than money, but in honesty of business, it's always about money. So why not?
I'd buy it if there was to be a price on it.
If War of World Craft could make a lot of money having just a calculator for the Iphone, just to imagine what a profit Anet could make with Guild Wars accessories and applications for the phone.

Smash people up on your warrior by shaking your iphone left and right. That would be pretty awesome.

mate, when you're not playing gw it means you've probably found your way back into the world populated by non-fictional humans. Now i don't mean to rain on your parade, but don't you think it's a bit sad, almost pathetic, to be so addicted to gw that you need to play it constantly? Why not enjoy that time away from the pc by hanging out with a few friends, or taking a walk in the park?
"Zomg man, step out of my light, can't you see I'm trying to farm UW here?"
I can almost guarantee that the above words will cause your social status to take a sharp nose-dive

I'd really like something like team builder as a mobile phone app. Sometimes i'll get good ideas for HA builds when i'm out and about. Especially at moments when you're waiting way too long at the dentist's office, it'd be fun to have something like that to play around with. All i have on my Treo now is paint, which is pretty cool also.
dilan155
as gifted said something like teambuilder, mapping out etc, will be pretty cool to be made into phone apps.

I have wondered those who go against such great ideas for GW are actually working for rivalry companies that run Everquest and War of Worldcraft just to try and take sink their competition.
If Anet can make it so possible to have GW conveniently be played on our mobiles, that would be awesome, if not, then maybe something such as mapping, a GW calculator, just anything.
Mobile phones are built with things for more than just talking, such as The Iphone, you can go online, check myspace, facebook, WOW calculator, play street fighting games, and it keeps updating to make it more fun, so why bomb on this idea for those who ARE TRUE GW FANS!
I love Guild Wars and to take it to our phones in any way, is just fun.

i said what i think,
i love guild wars and don't come telling me what a true gw fan is, its a name i made this account to sell something i never thaught i'd become active on GWG
just because i have a LIFE and i enjoy doing sport going out with friends spending time with my girlfriend etc. doesn't make me less of a gw fan...
the world is bigger than a game...
...
jeessh dude it was a simple /notsigned with a good reason
if you alrdy start flaming cos of 1 notsigned you shouldnt of made this thread...

Gift3d, what on earth does my post have to do with me being sensitive? I'm merely stating that GW shouldn't turn into something which dominates our everyday life. You talk of wanting a "team builder app" for when you think of ideas for HA. Come now, wait until you're home, contain your excitement! It'll still be in your head by the time you get there. And if you're bored at the dentist, read a book, it's far more constructive
With regards to me making "assumptions" about people's social lives, yes, I think it's pathetic to be so dependant on gw that you need to spend the better part of your day online. I apologise if I hit a nerve...

Just because someone loves GW doesn't mean they dont have a life. If that's the case then you might as well say that anyone that plays any MMO (including GW) doesn't have a life at all. However, since that's far from true, then there is nothing wrong with having a Guild Wars Mobile just for on the go and for the fun and heck of it oh and the love of it.
I just got home from Europe performing on a Cruise Ship. To play GW on the ship is impossible and with a laptop (which I dont carry and if I did) it would be too expensive.
However with a Guild Wars Application for our mobiles, Anet would make some good money for it. The ones who trully love GW will buy it and the ones that rant and complain about having a real life would still buy it, but will just deny it. Either way, GW would get some pretty great consumers for it. I surely would be one of them. I'm sure Anet would say that's its about the happiness of the consumer more than money, but in honesty of business, it's always about money. So why not?

Guess the moment came to prove that you have a social life Phantom? Go ahead and love GW mate.. See if it will love you back, or bear you children. xD
On a more serious note, you think it's necessary to buy everything GW makes in order to prove you're a true fan? By all mean enjoy your GW mate, but leave it at home xP

No thanx... as much... fun as this could be, it wouldnt run well enough on a pda/ifone to be worth it. Id rather leave gw at home where its a decent game, not make it compete with Snake and Tetris...

As I said, It would be fun to play GW on an Iphone but i dont see it that possible. So Anet, make something like a GW calculator or whatever. If War of Worldcraft could step it up, can't GW?
ZenRgy
Yeah but iphones are terrible and so is Guild Wars. It would open a cosmic vortex of terrible, and that should not happen.
I'd mess around with a portable version of teambuilder for around 15 minutes.

/unsigned. I really, truly don't see a point. Maybe with the outside apps like team builder and mapping out I could see the appeal, but with any official Anet programs for iphones etc; just no.

You have my signature on condition that it will not make the game any more laggy than it already is, I also strongly doubt it will be done at all and will not be using it even if its available, I usually leave my mobile at home lol, just so I can avoid contact with undesirable person, let alone making myself available when I actually want to enjoy my quiet time playing games. but if it will help you, /signed

Yeah, people with a DS and PSP should throw it away and get a life. People should also stop playing snake on their phone because it dominates their life.

Truth is these posters complaining would probably buy it if Guild Wars did reach out to mobile users. They took it too far and way too negative, and possibly on purpose for possibly bitter reasons.
However, I did mention it would be cool if Anet did do some affiliation with GW for the mobile. If it's too much to play GW over your phone, fine, however there are other creative productions Anet could come up with.
If War of Worldcraft could step up to the plate, Anet could too. It would be fun to be on your mobile rocking GW, while you are stuck on the upperplattform of a New York City subway.

The only thing I'd use on my iPhone would be something that ties into the chat server so I could fire messages and maybe even set guild status updates while I'm away. That's it, though.

If Anet could find a way to have be able to play GW on our mobiles flawlessly, awesome. If not, then yeah that's a great idea.
We could check up on our guild, use our chat messengers, or even just anything.

Don't compare apples with oranges...
And phantom, you created the thread, I gave my opinion. Don't be a biggot and automatically shun anything that opposes your idea (by calling it negative and making it seem as if we're out to get you).

"That old lady shouldn't have walked in front of my car, officer! I'm busy trying to assemble my guild so we can save all of Tyria, Cantha, and Elona from the forces of evil! Honest!"
Seriously keep guild wars related things at home where it belongs. If you are addicted to Guild Wars, or any game to the point where you need to have it on your cell phone, might I recommend some help.
Also we aren't saying that ppl who play MMO's have no life. We are saying that it MMO's should stay at home where they belong. If you are addicted to an MMO to the point where you need it on your cell phone, then perhaps a break from gaming.

When you people learn to keep your mouths shut about your IRL adventures and phat lewts on an Internet forum devoted to a video game, try posting about this again. If you can't take a bit of criticism, don't post ideas. Similarly, if you can't accept that other people may want different things to fiddle with during their free time, don't post replies. It's entirely possible to agree or disagree with something or someone without being a total twat about it, and I highly recommend that some of you pick up the skill or invest in the required talent tree.
