Music looping, choosing

Alright, mostly I LOVE all the guild wars music. I even own a couple of the songs on my ipod from the first guild wars. Usually When im not playing my own music, I'm blasting the music way louder then the effects and dialog etc etc. But I have a little annoyance. I don't know if it's just my computer but my music doesn't loop that often. The only guaranteed time is when I am in a large scale fight, then the fight music starts.

That's why I request something of an in game music box! You get to choose how often the music loops from All the time, to often to not very often, to never, And then you get to choose which song that plays during regular play and large scale combat! The music you can play is unlocked by which campaign you have, and while i suggest playing the region specific music in that region since it adds to the depth of game play, you may play NF music in Prophecies if you like. The GWEN music that plays during the first missions where you run from the destroyers (the main theme) is just pure awesome and I wish I could play it more, and the Nightfall large scale battle music is also great.

I realize this is a rather large scale programming change, however it is little things like music that really make the game and I think it would improve at the very least MY game play. So what say you?

Not exactly easy to change the music to the song you want during a battle then resume to calmer music during regular game play.....

You can achieve similar results by modifying your gw.dat file. Change the source of the music to what plays where, though I've lost the tutorial. Perhaps someone else has it?

It's always scary messing with the DAT file, I try not to.
Making an option for this in game would be easier on the community as a whole

Why is it scary?

Make another copy of it; if something goes wrong, just restore it.

It'll be like EVE Online's Juke box.

With my suggestion you can play music from your computer in the game. For example, when ever I enter any battle in Elona the FF9 battle theme plays. It's amazing.

Hmm u know what even better, if Anet implemented a GW Music Player, not a big scale one, but one u can open with one of your F buttons. Like F12 is Log Off. And that this Music Player would recognize all types of music on your pc, or is linked with your Limewire Shared File.

Even better would be, a plug in of this. Like a download u can get from Guildwars.com. The u add that to ur GW file or something, and it will be added to your Interface (or not). This gives the community freedom;

For people who like to hear their own music, alt tabbing would be gone, and lag would be less. For people who don't want the plug in, just dont download it.

But ofcourse this is all imagination. Would be nice though.

Wow those soundtracks are AWESOME. Totally worth the 41.95 for every single guild wars ST. Jeremy Soule is a friggen genius. And everyone who played in the recording are extremely gifted people! I don;t know if band class made me appreciate music more but I can't get enough of those tracks.

TY for reminding me about that site.

HOWEVER, while you get more music to play in Guild wars, It still doesn't solve the problem of how often the music loops and choosing what song to play where, and at what times. I still think an in game music box of sorts, or just an option would make the experience even better!.

/signed to have a music box as green drop of moderate rarity. It should be obtainable in elite missions and dungeons and tradable to any player. (Not customized)

Whoa wait...I was talking about a menu option or a window you could open or close in the game...but actually...that sounds fun! They could introduce a new Quest line, One for every Campaign so anyone can get it and you need to do a quest from another campaign to get that ones music...

BUT i would just be happy with an option to do this without a quest.

There is no point to what you're suggesting. Just suffer through it.
