Asuran Scan V.S. "I am the Strongest"

If you had to take only one out of the two skills mentioned above, which one would you take (given that both titles are maxed)?

Or in other words, which one would result in more dps?

Depends on how much damage you do.

If you do crap damage, +x% will multiply crap into slightly better crap. If you do good damage, +x% will multiply good into very good. You just need to find at which point the multiplication gives more bonus damage than the constant +y.

"I am the Strongest!" against everything that doesn't take forever to kill. Buffed physicals will be able to kill a target in the time it takes Asuran Scan just to recharge.

Asuran Scan also has the aftercast delay which is annoying. In Hard Mode areas with healers and level 30 enemies I'd consider it.

If it was my choice.. I would run with Ebon Battle Standard of Honor instead of either. It buffs everyone around you for slightly less then I Am The Strongest, but lasts unlimited hits (for 20 seconds). It also doesnt go to waste if you change targets (Asuran Scan), and is unremovable.

But out of the two u suggested.... I would go with Asuran Scan in HM, and IatS in NM.

keep asuran scan, works great with discord way, since u can just cast a hex on each target you're gonna atk next

Does this means that spells like Fireball, Lightning Strike will be affected, but hexes such as Spiteful Spirit and Spoil Victor won't?

i like asura scan but thats probably cos i done have IATS and my norn rank is crap

For my dervish/necro I use Asuran scan and wounding strike with my discord team. The Asuran scan is the hex and my wounding strike causes the condition and the discord team take care of the rest. And if I'm in area's where there aren't too many fleshy creatures I'll take along enfeeble or weaken armor to help the discord team dish out dmg.

Like in some of the above posts, I like asuran scan more cause it goes well with discord way.

By the wording of EBSoH it should increase the damage dealt by SS (I haven't seen the numbers myself, but I've been in a team where the SS necro brought EBSoH ), however, since SV is health loss rathe than damage, I'm pretty sure it won't be affected.

Interesting, never considered using IATS, though asuran scan fits perfectly into my DSLASH SY build. Might test IATS out and see which is more fruitful

would EBSoH also affect the damage done by the minions when you run Sabway or Discordway?

seriously its fun to do 100+damage to 200 damage on HM monsters. use it when i vanquish. granted it takes some enrgy but still just wonderfull if you can kill a monk in 3 hits

I use Asuran Scan on my sin...she's only r3 but it help do a shit load of damage using db+ms
Then again, i'd use I am the Strongest on a barrage ranger...depends on the build OP

That is correct. Skills that ignore armor don't get the bonus from EBSoH, or at least that is my understanding of how that skill works. All the skills I have tested in the ward follow that rule.

Bonus damage from attack skills ignores armor, but they are still attacks, so they still receive the bonus.

Minions are allies, too, so any minion in the ward receives the bonus damage to their attack. Fiends can do some sick damage with that.

asuran scan is awesome against bosses, especially dungeon and end game bosses. Its less effective against normal foes in a physical heavy team because things just die too fast.

So to answer your question, it is entirely situational.

there are only a very few things that arent buffed by EBSoH, even traps are buffed as long as it does non- armor ignoring damage. so that would be better than both of those, OT however i would go with asuran scan if you have enough nergy to keep using it.

Depends on what your doing-high armor/very durable foes=asuran scan,every thing else=IATS.
