Guess I could try it out, but I'd like to get a little feedback before I do.

Will activating traps within the ward add damage to the traps laid? If so, do they affect the traps damage output only while active?

Examples:
1)
Cast Ebon Battle Standard of Honour
Lay trap(s)
Lure foe into trap before ward closes

2)
Cast EBSH
Lay trap(s)
Lure foe into trap after ward closes

3)
Lay trap(s)
Cast EBSH
Lure foe into trap after ward closes

Thank you.

i third that comment both actions (laying trap and luring) should be done with ward up

it doesnt work on all traps. only those that do damage that is affected by armor. so i think dust trap will not work.

Not sure about the Dust Trap... testing needs to be done... because the damage it deals is armor ignoring, but it is in many ways treated as Earth damage...

These posts are what I have observed from testing.

Lay Trap(s)
Cast EBSoH on top of trap(s)
Lure foe into trap before ward ends

Any trap that deals armor-affected damage while the ward is active will have the bonus damage from the ward applied. Note that the traps have to be inside the ward, and activate while it is in effect for the bonus damage, but you do not have to cast the ward while you trap.

Dust Trap does not receive any bonus damage from EBSoH, but Flame Trap will, on each pulse.

On a somewhat related note, "By Ural's Hammer!" also affects traps. Your location with relation to the traps doesn't matter: you only need to activate the shout before the traps activate, and any traps that activate during the shout's duration will be multiplied.

There doesn't seem to be the same restriction to damage from Ural's Hammer; it does multiply the damage from Dust Trap.

edit: You can of course combine Flame Trap, EBSoH, and Ural's Hammer, and all the effects stack. There's a thread discussing experiments similar to this here.

Itll work solong as the ward is up when the the damage occurs, and the traps are in the ward.

pretty much everything misterB said, lay traps, lay ward, lure mob. the damage only affects armor acknowledging damage.

Correction: the relative positions of EBSoH and traps don't matter, in particular it doesn't matter whether the traps are inside the ward when triggered, the only relevant condition is that you must be inside the ward when the traps trigger (tested it as well), just as the description tells. So ...
  1. Lay traps
  2. Lure monsters
  3. Before traps trigger, cast EBSoH
  4. Stay inside EBSoH while traps do their work

That is quite useful to know, thanks!
I must admit I never would have thought to test that. I just tested your conclusion and you are correct; I was just returning inside the ward after pulling.
