Event games
theonetheonlybruce
though just came to me i think anet should implement a event npc where u can play the event games anytime of the year. Now it couldn't give prizes for wins or points towards skill title(or it could depending on feedback) but make it so we can play them and have fun and not have wait a year to do them maybe get bath faction instead of the other thing. who doesn't like bath faction?
Note: I say this because i love costume brawl and it doesn't happen enough

There's no point in competing in them if there's nothing to come out of it. Plus, they might last too long that people will get bored of them once the true event arrives. Although I do agree that Costume Brawl doesn't arrive as often as it should. There should be other events that resemble that one.

Just make the brawl happen at all events.

The only thing I would agree for is if you get gamer points, coz thats a gay title.

if it is available at all times then it is not consider as event games anymore. As an event games it shd be unique and only available during the event.

i admit it would be cool to play event games at any time but it would just be really boring when it came to the actual event

The fun part of events is to have special activities which are not available all the time. Making them available all the time would degrade the use for special events.

The only possible way I can think to allow that is this one:
- 1. Make 'copies' of the games, without the original game theme:
** Snow fight ---> Mud fight (Just change names of skills, and put brown where white is on skills)
** Costume brawl ---> Fixed deck brawl. (no costumes, skill bars change periodically)
** Dragon arena ---> Norn Dodgeball arena, the 'light balls' are replaced with huge boulders.
** Imperial Rollerbeetle races ---> Elonian Rollerbeetle races. Basically the same, but with a different map.
- 2. Limit the way to enter. Something like tickets would be required to join the games. One ticked for each chance to enter, and you continue playing until you lose. Lose and you need another ticket. The price for one ticket coul be:
** For PvP characters:
**** 1 skill point: 150 tickets.
** For PvE characters:
**** 200 gold: 1 ticket.
** For both PvE and PvP characters:
**** 1 ticket for every 100 Balthazar faction.
**** 10 tickets for each Tournament reward point.
Note that prices are just examples.
3.- Then, each week, ONE game is opened, and will use the same outpost the Brawling Arena uses (the one with the door under the waterfall between the Great Temple and the Zaishen Challenge)
And then, if you have tickets, you can hit the "Enter arena" button. If you don't you just receive a red middlescreen warning.
When events come, the guest NPC that explains the arena in the outpost would redirect you to the event's games, and the copy would stay disabled until the event finishes.
Minigame arenas would estay free for all like now under the event, and go back to 'pay to join' mode when the event finishes
That way we'll get a limited way to gain access to an unlimited source of Gamer points.
This is how I would agree with all year round PvP minigames. But NEVER with just letting the event minigames open for free.

The reason they have them is for something to do at the events, if they had them all the time people wouldnt play at the event would they.

These are "special" games and I would like to keep them that way.
But if the event games were released for everyday use, people would quickly get bored of them especially if prizes are excluded from them. Then ANET must now come up with like five more games and make them events in order to compensate.

What I want instead, is the Gamer Weekend, to be more often, and longer.
Change it to Gamer Week, and have it at the end of every three months. Best set of months I think would be: end of February, May, August, and November.
During the "new" Gamer Week, all the activities that give Gamer Points would be open, meaning Costume Brawls, Dragon Arena, Rollerbeatle Racing, Snowball Arena, Boardwalk (only the Dragon's Nest, no rings - to prevent major lag).
And maybe add some new Arenas, such as Ritball (and perhaps some Siege Devourer game?).
