Basalt Grotto or Maguuma Stade. The storylines will not take you anywhere near either.

mmmmm there's this outpost in the realm of torment I had no clue that it existed until I stumbled upon it when I was running around with my dervish. I'll try to find the name.

Might be this.

IMO Ice Tooth Cave is most obscure, there is zero reason to go there. (unless farming something in particular).

Ice Tooth Cave is still a frequent stop for runners.

Maguuma Stade, Fisherman's Haven and Ventari's Refuge get my vote.

Gate of the Nightfallen Land is pretty obscure, and The Shadow Nexus. Everything else is explorable, those 2 can be easily missed as you don't need the Realm of Torment for Cartographer...

Remember, hiding isn't just about finding an out of the way place, it's about blending in. If you want to do it right, you have to remember that whoever is participating will probably be looking for the least likely places anyone would be at as a priority following the main cities. You need something in the middle, a place that receives traffic but you don't give a second thought about.

Battle Isles (last place anyone would look in a cross campaign hunt):

The Zaishen Elite Challenge

Prophecies:

Tomb of Primeval Kings
Dragon's Lair
Deldrimor War Camp
Sanctum Cay (why would you hide at a vital mission?)
Fisherman's Haven
Ascalon Arena
Shiverpeak Arena
Boreal Station
Riverside Province
Dunes of Despair

Factions:

The Marketplace
Seitung Harbor
Altrumm Ruins
Maatu Keep

Nightfall:

Sunspear Arena
Beknur Harbor
Jokanur Diggings
Remains of Sahlahja
Grand Court of Sebelkeh
Chantry of Secrets
Pogahn Passage

I had no clue about this outpost until I had to cap a boss near there and happened to catch a glimpse of the portal on the edge of the compass.

Gate of the Nightfallen Lands gets my vote. I came to this place by mistake once when I was lost looking for The Gate of Pain. I remember I was looking all over for a mission or a quest but nothing to be found and no one around. It really felt creepy!!

Good list!

If I have to choose one, I would vote for the Gate of Nightfallen Lands because it is in a high level area and there is nothing there.

camp hojanu is completely out of the way, same with ice tooth cave.

i would personally hide at Fisherman's haven. just because i love that region of Kryta. twin serpent lakes is possibly my favorite area. so pretty.

Supervillain's got a great list. Can't really argue with any of those.

If I had to pick a spot from each game, I'd suggest Maguuma Stade, Amatz Basin, and Gate of the Nightfallen Lands.

x2, I don't like vanq'ing but I liked doing that area

What about GoA, Urgoz and Deep these days

Back in the days of Prop, I discovered Port sledge after I took like 3 or 4 characters already through the game and was playing for a long time.
And grendich courthouse probably, and maguuma stade ofc.

In my 27 months of play I had only discovered Fisherman's Haven in the past few weeks. I'd say it's relatively obscure because many Sanctum Cay runners just skip it.

this thread's about the most obscure outposts, not your hide-and-seek strategies.
i declare this post epic fail.

Gate of the Nightfallen Lands.

There are other places that are obscure and out-of-the-way, but they all are on an explorable map, so cartographers will have to go there. Gate is not on an explorable map AND in the middle (well, corner, I suppose) of one of the hardest areas in the game... I imagine not many people run around RoT for fun.

I've been to it only on one character a couple days after NF came out... I was looking around RoT for elite skill caps and charting the boss locations to put up on wiki. All my other characters never been there.

Its also about hide and seek, and he has got a good list there.. Bad try at trolling, please stop that.

Just a side note: port sledge is pretty well known for chestrunners, I remember spending hours there waaaay back, and if I want to run chests I always go there (which i dont do, actually)

Ice Tooth Cave and Maguuma Stade are the two most obscure outposts in the game in my opinion.
There's just no reason to visit any of them, and i like those 2 outposts alot ^^
I go to ice tooth cave to afk sometimes, its just a nice place to be alone at.

lol thread winner...

anywho on-topic and slightly off (with a fun story) xD

when I was finishing my leg. vanq penultimate area was (tangle root)? went through it and low and behold I found an outpost (one at the bottom of the area...magumma stade?) so yer went through the game in NM / HM did 52? vanqs and never came across it before...

<<<moral of the story, I aen't heard of it before so it would be most obscure IMO...

or you can take the opposite tack...go to the most obvious outpost last place they'd think to look - o.O wait thats wrong
