a giant tree. And if you mean the thing youve circled on your mini map its probably a crater from the searing.

Are you talking about the measly 5g that dropped, or the tree? xD

It's just a fallen tree with it's roots sticking up. From the searing i would guess. Since all is pretty much dead in Ascalon now.
The brown/red are most likly only a visual effect.

What you see: A tree

On the Map: Brown/Red colored ground (you can slightly see a red tint near the tree as well).

It's always been like that...

5 Gold Coins - gold coins are a currency used in Tyria and are commonly found on monsters who actually have no apparant use for the gold, but hold it anyway.

A Fallen Tree - a tree that was caught in the Searing and, like many other trees that are hit by city sized magical crystals raining from the sky, knocked over.

The mark on the map - a badly coloured patch that has been there for three years. The dark colour is putting emphasis on the fact that its a crater.

Well at least it wasnt the dragon head statue from Sunjiang Distrct.

A dead tree? And the reddish color appears to be blood from all the people who post questions on here and get pounded into mush by sarcastic people who have nothing better to do than slam people who post questions on here and tell them they are in the wrong forum or the wrong thread or the like.

What is a lvl 20 doing in post searing ascalon NM, wondering about a tree...

Why not? I've got a Prophecies char with Legendary Cartographer and I farm that area a lot. Yet, just yesterday, I came across a spot I didn't know about, where you can look down into the catacombs behind Sardelac. Seems like there's always something new to discover in GW.

Has someone checked to see what's in that spot in pre? Looks to me like it would be over part of the catacombs where the gargoyles are found. Perhaps the roof over that area collapsed during the Searing.
