How do you kill Glint
1druid1
Hey all, as the title says, I just cant kill Glint, the missions is easy enough to get to him, just cant kill that damn dragon!! This is in Normal Mode.
Any tips or suggestion would be great, its the only bonus I have left to do to get Protector of Tyria.
Cheers

bring interrupts. make's it a piece of cake
Kerwyn Nasilan
Prot Spirit, Interrupts, and some decent healing. (try to bring teh least number of melee, her skill will rape them)
Drizzitdude
you need interrupts. Lots of em. Or else glint is nearly impossible to kill.

People say interrupts are needed, I say don't need but makes it easier.
What is needed is a Wild attack (Wild Blow *War* Wild Strike *sin* or Wild Throw *para*), and decent to good healing depending on how many melee you have with you.
A Blood Necro with Grenth's Balance can mostly solo her (take two hits, use GB, rinse repeat - works until she is very low on health, but for that, just use other life steal spells and have team makes help).
She's rather easy to H/H as long as you bring a Wild attack. A single interrupt skill would work too (depending on recharge).

like they all said interrupts are key
also have a warrior or somebody bring a stance removal to get rid of jagged crystal skin thats what rapes the melees. Make it a key point to interrupt glint's crystal hibernation or it'll take alot longer
so interrupting and stance and hex removal for crystal haze, which causes exhaustion which sucks ass
also spread out cuz crystal haze does AoE so less people bunched less people affected
Id recommend bringing shivers of dread with someone thats got an icy wep, thats what i did and she went down easy as pie
good luck

Hey All
Thanks for the replys, took her down easily tonight although it took me 23 minutes to kill her, lol no DP was had in the whole mission, actually Glint didnt pose any threat whatsoever, I basically set GWEN up with various interupts, Glint didnt stand a chance against her.
Cheers for the advice.

just take a bow yourself go /r and take dshot, dshot crystal hibernation. take little thom. It's gg.

The OP's primary profession seems to be warrior. Going axe and taking Disrupting chop and distract blow should do it. Also taking a ranger with interrupts works aswell.
Also don't forget to take monks with protective spirit and a weapon with elemental damage else you get spiked by jagged crystal skin.

Hi All
Yes after killing her last night I now see the possibilities of easily killing her with different builds, I was only really concerned about Jagged Crystal Skin, Hibernation was a pian but I didnt worry to much about interupting that, I guess if I did I would have killed her a lot quicker, PS my Primary Profession is a Monk, I was setup as a Protection Monk.
Cheers

Glad to hear you beat her, I remember the first time I fought her and it confused me too, til I realized interrupts = TEH WIN vs her.

My solution to everything: Have a Ritualist along.
Seriously. Then just put Warmonger's Weapon on your melee classes and Glint's helpless.

Well, take a mesmer full of interrupts and you are good.

Hi
Glint is a big pushover, i was on my ranger, standard broadhead arrow build, with henchies, bring mesmer henchie, i had distracting shotm savage, broadhead arrow, and apply poison, piece of cake.

The best thing to use is a ranger with punishing shot, savage shot and distracting shot. The mesmer is okay, but Glint uses monster skills and many of the mesmer's interrupts are geared towards spells.
The best situation is to bring a ranger hero with those skills since heros have lightning reflexes.

*gasps* OMG 'sin heroes have a purpose lol j/k

Did it with H/H (Ranger with Punishing, Savage and Distracting Shot and a Mesmer with 2 interrupts).
Good luck,

I'd recommend 2 heroes/characters, similar to what the others have mentioned.
1) Ranger - this is a pure interrupt character designed to keep Glint from using any of her skills. Only one is interrupt proof, and that is Jagged Crystal Skin, as it is a stance.
2) Mesmer - this doesn't have to be a primary Mesmer, but it can help. Degen won't kill Glint, but it helps. More importantly are punishment skills like Empath or Clumsiness. However, the most important thing a Mesmer is needed for is hex removal. Glint uses a nasty hex that has AoE range. It causes ALL skills (not just spells) to cause exhaustion. Since it is a monster skill, it can be removed with Inspired/Revealed Hex which recharges instantly. Remove it from yourself, then remove it from the healers and the rest of the team.
If using melee, make sure they have Wild Blow, Wild Strike, or Wild Throw. Jagged Crystal Skin is deadly for melee, so it needs to be removed.
If you can keep the team from becoming over exhausted, and keep Glint interrupted, it becomes EXTREMELY easy.

I guess people have problems because they start with Prophecies, build a warrior (cos they is so leet!), hurtle through the campaign and then meet someone who bothered to buy Nightfall or Gwen and has heroes - usually at Thunderhead Keep.
When they get to Glint - they don't have a hero team to take Discord or spam interrupts and are stuck with Henchies, they then struggle (and often fail) to kill Glint unless they PUG with a Mesmer, Ranger or someone with heroes.
A lot of people still buy the game at Prophecies and don't discover heroes - and what they can do - until partway through the game. Some stay and buy Nightfall, more complete the game and then go to "the game that shall not be named" - it's a shame but that's the way it seems
