We're trying to connect my daughters computer to our wireless network. We're using a usb adapter to connect their computer and their os is vista. I've tried just about everything and it's not working. I also have gone in to the router but I'm not entirely sure what I should do while I'm in there.

Eep.

Depends on the router and what security measures you have in place.

While setting up connection, you will need "Allow Broadcast of Name (SSID)" checked, otherwise the laptop won't find your router. If you have "Wireless Station Access List" enabled, you will need to enter the MAC address of the USB dongle into this.

I hate wireless, btw ^^

Oh, one more thing: If the USB dongle came with software, it's generally accepted wisdom that you shouldn't use it. Let Vista do it - it works nicely.

I'm guessing he forgot to read the SSID / WEP correctly and entered it wrong.

You don't even know me so don't guess at anything I may or may not have done.

EDIT: to edit or not to edit, that is the edited question.
