Mechanical Titans.

I was doing the M.O.X quest a while ago and when I was exploring Zinn's lair in The Falls I happened to notice some mysterious machines around the map.










What does anyone make of this?

Looks like parts for the iron forgeman from sorrow's furnace.

One of those can be found in the Sorrow's Furnace, they are called iron forgeman..and were build for the stone summit i think. They are porbably based on Asuras too as you can see from the "ears" that they have.http://guildwars.wikia.com/wiki/Iron_Forgeman

As said it is replicas of the Iron Forgeman. Found in Oola's Lab and Zinn's Lair.

Oola found the Iron Forgeman while in the Depths and took it to her lab and started making replicas. So, Gwmaster, what you said was a theory that was disproven by Linsey.
