Slow Motion
Lykan
Ok this is a new one to me. I was in RA and the game just started moving in slow motion. Kept getting spikes the whole match, It was like normal lag but different, it wasnt being in one spot then appearing in another it was actually moving at half speed. I went to GH and it was doing it there too. Like a lag spike but a slow motion spike lasting about 5-10 secs.
Is this a new kind of lag?
Is this a new kind of lag?
David Wooding
Don't quote me on this, but its probably just small, difficult to process things that your computers only just keeping up with, whereas lag spikes are bigger things that make your computer freeze.
I dunno much about lag as i don't get it much so don't flame me.

Just your computer not keeping up with it-turn down your graphics 'till halloween is over.

Sounds like something is eating up all your ram.

Weird its never happened before I better check it out.
gone
just happened to me whilst farming, i'm gonna go with..festival lag?
Cyb3r
Lykan to be honest it's probably lag from the server restart (every time they do something get's messy (don't ask me why and i'm following a Cisco course (part of that is serveradmin things)))

I did some in depth scans and i found a rootkit. What are the chances its safe to let avg get rid of it?
gone
been awhile since i used avg, but will it allow a scan to run before boot?
if avg removes it(rootkit) after boot of OS, there is a chance the rookit will just re-install itself.
/edit
perhaps running your AV prog in safe mode might work.

Wow, lots to do here.
Did you run all of the scanners from the Professional package? Still seeing some malware that some products like Malwarebytes Anti-Malware would have removed.
You need to upgrade to IE7 and then install SP3.
Uninstall:
Run the Anti-Malware Toolkit and get/install the following:
avast
Comodo Firewall Pro
JavaRa
Visit Sun and get the latest Java (6 Update 10) and install it, then run JavaRa.
Next install avast and do a Minimal install. Say yes to the boot time scan.
Wait to install Comodo until you've updated to SP3.
Also, for future postings please post the full HijackThis log.

Sorry I dont wish to change ZA or AVG.
I ran all the programs suggested in safe mode and normal and it did not pick out anything else after my first logfile.
And I installed avast and SP3 and well my PC freaked out with a near fatal error so that has been rolled back. the dreaded "autochk not found" inifinite cycle.
http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en...e+Search&meta=
So SP3 is going no where near my system.
Anyway....

You can always reinstall ZA and AVG. Considering how well they have worked for you, not sure why you would.
If you want to fix the problem I would advise you do what Tarun advises. If you don't want it fixed, keep ZA and AVG and ignore Tarun. The choice is yours.
