Guild Wars Graphics Problem

Hello everyone.I am having a problem when I am running guild wars with my new computer.When I enter a zone,change town etc.,after guild wars has loaded that area,I am getting a black screen twice.This is happening ONLY when I am running guild was in full screen.When I am running it at Window Screen,it is ok. I am getting this problem in both Windows XP Pro 32bit and 64bit.I think I didn't use to have that problem in Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit though.
My computer:
Motherboard:Asus P5Q Pro
Processor:Intel Core 2Duo E8500
Video Card:Ati Radeon HD4870X2 2GB GDDR5
Monitor:Samsung SyncMaster 2493HM 24'

what drivers(gpu) are you currently running?

I am currently using the ATI Catalyst 8.10,but I am having the problem with every drivers version I have used so far(8.7, 8.8, 8.9).

If I remember right this is a known issue with that mother board and PCI-E ports. The resoulation was to over-clock the port, slightly and or adjust the volatage to something like 1.45volts. I thought I had the URL around here but can't find it, must be at work. Will look and provide it tomorrow.

you might want to check and see(link above) if they have a possible bios update(s) before you up the voltage.

-remember, if you don't know what you're doing...please don't flash and brick your mobo.

Sorry, did not make it into work today, medical issues. As soon as I get to work I will put a link to the article, please don't overclock or up the voltage until you read the article.
BIO's updates can be good. But according to the article, it does not fix the issue. In doing some yahoo and google searchs from home, there are a lot of issues with that board.

OK, made it to work today . Please read the article, it's only three pages. I am sure you can find GPU-Z, no install required. Once you have it, launch it and check the bandwidth of your PCI-E port. The article refers to a few P5/P35 mother boards, however I have found several different forums where that indicate that several Asus P5 series mother boards are effected including the P5Q. These same fourms indicate that flashing when in window mode is a bandwidth issue. OK, enough warnings: here is the link.

EDIT:I think that this is not what I have to do.At the article,it says that the Motherboards with the bug are PCI-E 2.0 X16 @ X1,while the ones without the bug are PCI-E 2.0 X16 @ X16.Well,my Motherboard is PCI-E 2.0 x16 @ x16 2.0 which seems ok.

Phew, glad to hear it. That means the issue can be fixed. What was your previous video card? Either way, I would advise you locate a copy of DriveCleaner.net. Be sure to check for updates. Uninstall the driver, reboot into safe mode, use drivecleaner.net to clean off the files for every video card ever installed then reboot into normal mode and reinstall the driver that shipped with your video card.
Both Nvidia and ATI leave behind registry enteries and files on your system that can (but not always) conflict with each other. Many of these files can only be removed from your system when you are in safe mode.

As I have already said,this computer is new and I haven't used any other hardware on it.Anyway,I cleaned the drivers with DriverCleaner,but problem still exists...Think I will need some further help...
