New 'sort' choices on character log in screen

ok, some of this will mean nothing to those of you who have never bought new slots or deleted characters etc.

but for those of us who have the 2 choices (aside from 'none') just aint doing it for me.

I am proposing 3 new choices:

1. age
2. campaign
3. character level

ok let me explain each.
age....from left to right the oldest CHARACTER will be on the left (I have my first character that I made so she would be on the left followed by the other tyrian characters I made)....this would make it easier to know about those birthday issues (and also clump the prophecies characters together for those us of who have had the game longer). This would also make it easier for you to find those new characters you just made (and watched the order change because you did).

campaign...clump the prophecies characters together, factions, nightfall and then the pvp....inside of each group the order would be the 'none' aka chaos order that we currently have.

character level....ok maybe you have leveled all of your mules (or made some of those level 20's mules after decided you didnt like playing them)...but some of us have bunches of low level characters that we use just as mules....if all of the level 20's get lined up to the left (again in that 'none' chaos order) then all of the lower levels would be on the right making it easier to find.

Now I can see that some of you have no idea WHY one would want to do this, but if you have ever filled up your characters then bought more slots, filled those slots and watched your character order go *^$#*( ...then you can understand.

The choices right now just arent really choices...pvp, alpha or NONE....well having no pvp doesnt change my order much, alpha does just about the same as none for me (I dont make character names in that kind of order), so I would like them to add a few more choices to that drop down menu...shouldnt be toooooo hard (but then again, I must remember of whom I am speaking).

Why not just suggest the option to sort your characters as you wish? Then everyone's happy.

And show age on char screen and i'm happy =).

Definitely agree with needing more options there, either to just sort them how you want or more drop down choices. Shouldn't be too much to implement and won't hurt anyone to do so.

Having said that, as I started to create more characters I'd already noticed the lack of sort options and so my characters began to be given names that would place them where I wanted with alphabetical sorting. It at least gave me a bit of focus when trying to think of a new name...

More options is always better, but it's up to Anet to decide if it's worth implementing. /Signed for me because I don't see anything bad about it.

This. I'm not going to bother to sort my characters if they just give me options that don't really allow me to see my characters as I'd like to.

I like. One other thing that kind of irritates me is when I delete a character, the others don't move to the vacant spot.

I deleted characters 2 and 3, and instead of character 4 moving to spot 2, and so on, those spaces are just vacant, and my number 1 character always scrolls to the left where I cannot see [her]. That irks me.

I don't have more than 3 or four characters (yet), it would be nice to see them all on the screen at the same time...

i dont see the issue with it as is. ive had mine alpha since the very beginning and i know the order and where they are gonna be. the thing is you can just hit play and it will resumed off the last char you were on. i have 11 chars and i dont have an issue. just stick with a way and get used to where they are.

/notsigned cuz i think anets time would be better spent balancing skills ingame rather than tedious pregame things

yep those are good threads....however, I have added a few choices (not just age) and those threads are quite old (and I really dont want to get dinged for necromancy).....

yeah a custom sort would be ideal, but I was working with the information that is already ON the character screen (for the most part)---the campaign is there, the level is there, ok age really isnt but it had been mentioned before....

yes I would really like anet to do other things, but they seem to like to do things that arent on our A list of what needs to be done....sooooo.
