Didn't see a suggestion about this anywhere, thought I'd throw it out there...

I would like to be able to see and read those notices that appear to the upper right of the login screen, but also from the character select screen. You know, "Don't Buy Gold", "Double Faction Weekend", "Never Lick Frozen Things", etc.

Whaddya think?

Personally i don't see the point. if you want to read them do it. Does it matter at what point you do it?

this prolly shows how pathetic my life is, but i watch guru and wiki while im at class on tuesdays to see what the weekend event is. then i plan accordingly. so i dont need the login screen to tell me what it is even.

again though, /notsigned due to anet having more productive game benefitting things it could be doing instead

Nassau probably bypasses the login screen like I do with a -password switch. I haven't read that box for months now. Of course, I don't really care either. If I'm curious, I pop onto the wiki, which usually has an updated announcements section.

I agree with this. I run into the issue where the messages are not seen at all sometimes. It is lag or something slows them down for a minute or two, and by then i am selecting a character or playing already.

The point is what Sindy said.
Alot of people use the -password switch which bypasses the login screen so to read it you have to log out and log back in.
If it was on the char screen as well we wouldnt have to do that.

YEA i would also like to see this on the charctor selection screen along with it linking to the newest game update. so more people know what was updated.

Ahh I understand. I'd completely forgotten that switch existed. But really; if you want to read it that bad just remove the password switch. Anet shouldn't have to dedicate time to fixing something that isn't broken just because you guys circumvent the login page... That's your choice and yours alone. If you think the box is important enough to read, then perhaps remove the passsword switch and log in normally.

To the person who cites lag; if you want to read it that badly just wait till it shows up. Either way, what makes you think the box would show up any qicker on the character select screen?

laziness fails, but I guess this would be a good idea.

Although it will be helpful to a few people like those who use -password, it would be fairly unhelpful to most people who don't read the anoucnements (ie, "when's the mad king coming????" people)

It would be more annoyance than helpful. Given that there would hardly be any room in the character select screen. Squeezing the notice in would shorten either the notice, or the icons, or character. Either way it would all be bunched up and irritating. If you want to see the notice, just pay attention to it when you sign in instead of instantly signing on before looking.
