Deldrimor steel alone, no. However, you can easily farm the materials (wood, iron, dust) for them, then pay 400g per steel. As long as you don't pay for the materials, it's cheaper. In fact, iirc, as long as you don't pay for one material, it's cheaper then the steal.

However, I don't think there is an obvious drop for farming deldrimor steel. Basically, what gives you iron, also gives a chance at steel and deldrimor steel. Deldrimor steel being the rarest.

true, the only way you can get a drop of deldrimor steel are treasure chests in EotN dungeons, and from my experience, takes ages to get some

I find it better to farm Charcoal directly, rather than Wood. That cuts the cost of Deldrimor Steel down to 200g each, since you don't have to pay to get the charcoal crafted first.

I have one char that likes crafted Deldrimor weapons for himself and all his heroes, so he goes through a lot of Deldrimor Steel. Two HM farms cover the materials:

1. Gates of Kryta -- the mob behind Oink's house. Produces LOTS of Glittering Dust and highly-salvagable blues to produce Iron, Wood, and sometimes regular Steel. I get so much dust from this farm I end up giving stacks of it away to my alliance friends before I drown in it. By the time I have enough Iron to justify a trip to the artisan, I have more than enough dust.

2. Sardelac Sanitarium -- Hulking Stone Elementals. Produces a good deal of Charcoal and highly-salvagable blues. The current price of Granite helps make this farm very profitable.

When I make a trip to the artisan, I make as many Deldrimor Steel as I can from the Iron on hand, but I also bring along Wood and Tanned Hide for crafting into Vellum and Elonian Leather using any leftover dust. These two materials can be sold for enough to cover all crafting costs plus a healthy profit. In a normal trip to the artisan, I usually spend 4-5k on crafting all three materials, and get 10-15k from the trader for the Vellum and Elonian Leather.

Farming Elementals outside old Ascalon in HM is another good way to get charcoal. This solo warrior build is pretty good for it.

You can take the elemental bosses out too with a bit a practice. A good farm for charcoal, leet tomes and gold items.

The Fastest Charcoal run is outside of LA. Fire IMPS HM, you will average 5 to 10 in one run. Runs take about 5 min with my 55 Necro.

You either craft it yourself, buy it from the rare materials trader or get it outta EotN dungeon chests.

That's it.

I should have been a bit more specific. Not ALL that drops iron/steel, but I've gotten d. steel from shiverpeak drops (might have gotten some from elsewhere) but I KNOW I got d. steel from salvaging several times in the past. It's pretty much as uncommon to get d. steel from salvages as to get E. Leather from salvages.

Both Wikis disagree with you.

Not trying to be an arse here and prove you wrong, but if the guy wants to farm D steel then he's wasting his time doing what you suggest and looking for it from salvage.
