So, I just had to nuke my computer yesterday. (Stupid virus...) I pvp alot and do not want to have to wait for downloading when entering all the maps. Does guildwars offer a download on their website that can help me avoid some of the load times when I enter the maps? Or am I stuck just downloading the client and suffering through all the loading screens? I also have the CDs for two of the campaigns, would using these to install be a better idea?
Thx

gw.exe -image.
Add, under Properties when you right click. That will download everything initially, which will take quite awhile. But it's better than nothing.
The CD's only have the game client on them, so that's not really going to help much.

More specifically:
Right click on your Guild Wars shortcut on the desktop and select "Properties". (If you don't have a GW shortcut, find gw.exe - usually in C:\program files\guild wars\ - right-click, select Send To - Desktop)
In the "target" line it should say something like:
"C:\program files\guild wars\gw.exe" - the exact path may vary
Edit the line so that it says:
"C:\program files\guild wars\gw.exe" -image - note that -image is outside the quotes
Click on OK to save it. Double click to run it. It will take a looong time to download everything, so do it while you are a work/school/sleep.
When it's finished, re-edit the shortcut to remove the "-image".

I've been downloading and updating for the last 24 hours, what's a few more... Thanks for the help.
Luminarus
Since you pvp only, once you load a map it shouldnt have that problem again. There arent THAT many pvp maps, so it may not be so big a deal for you.

as luminarus said you could try going though each map either using isle of nameless or a trial run though RA/HB etc. but running -image on the properties is the best thing to do i would think.
