strange message in chat window

Hi all. last night I zoned into Lion's Arch and had this strange message pop into my chat window in blue/green text. I had not been in town prior to the message appearing, nor did I stay and see what else appeared. Did anyone else get any strange messages yesterday? I think the text colour is similar to the text when you buy a skill from a trader, but I could be wrong.

I tried blowing up the picture and all I got was blurry text. At least I could make out your build.

If you've got the screenshot in normal size, why don't you either add it as an attachment (click the "Manage Attachments" button below the post a message box) or just tell us what it said?

Editing: you're welcome As for the message, no idea. It looks like the global announcement like fenix said, but that's a very random message.

It's like a global annoucement, which they used for the Server upgrade thing....but I dunno what that is.

Regina could probably comment on or explain about this weird message.

I think that text color is the color that Dev's use when texting... I could be wrong though I haven't seen a dev type anything in a while...

the message itself doesn't make much sense... maybe someone hacked the GW servers?

were you doing something at some point during the day that could have been "on the line" of being against the EULA or something? it could be some sort of warning to watch what you're doing.

last night? couldn't be, I don't have Horseman Vulgamor for the whole of yesterday! I remember cos wanted to trade in my Orr Emblem and couldn't find him.

Duh. It's a guild announcement.

The guild announcement is the stuff I've blocked out. Besides, it's in a different colored text. I had actually, just, logged on and was zoning when that appeared. I don't think the message was for me, but I don't think it was global either.

Maybe there was an Arena Net dev on that day that was in LA and saw some inappropriate language/discussions going on and decided to send a city wide message notifying people that he/she was not happy with what was going on?

My best guess...

Probably related to the K/L botters, need someone to explain it tho.

I think this as well. It's kind of.. .conversationally. As if you're supposed to know what it is referring to.

I don't think one dev will tell the other dev 'thank you for understanding'. Looks like a dev to player message instead.

Intriguing, but I think the message just got delivered to the wrong person.

Looks like the same color as what Regina Buenaobra uses in chat. But her messages are preceded by her name, so that rules out my original thought that you caught a snippet of her chatting with the players.

Zoyinna, did you perhaps use the /report function prior to getting that message?
