Running Gwx2, every build update I have to copy over my Guild Wars folder from my Program Files to another location, and I realized that the most recent partition had a mysterious, gw000 file..?
It's 7797kb big and is a 000 file and was last modified when I last logged out of Guild Wars. Anyone have any idea what it is and what it does?

GW00*.jpg are screenshots, although 8 MB is too big for a jpg and it's a long time since GW stopped saving screenshots as .bmp's.
I'd say delete it; it's pretty much guaranteed to be either a leftover temp-file or a corrupted file. It's about the same size as the GW.exe file, which it might be a corrupted copy of.

It is something to do with running multiple copies of GW and copying them across.
I do this also (not using GWx2 anymore - but the same principle) and have a few strange files similar to this or .tmp files. All I tend to do is leave them and just clean them out when I do a clean of all my HD files.
I have seen ones appear when Ive had one copy of GW crash so Id think its some form of temp save.
Funnily enough, I only seemed to get these on my vista machines, not my xp comp for some reason - as Numa said its likely some tmp backup or similar and it can be deleted without any effect on GW.

what's the extension? For example, gw000.jpg or something?

he said its an 000 file so its Gwx2.000
its most likely a temp file....if you need the space delete, if you dont care, ignore it.
