I've played a lil with pets to...just for fun.

Not really a good build,but since you want a pet you cant really expect a good build.

I use this build if I want to mix it up with my paragon.
12+1+1 spear, 12 beast, 3+1 Command;
[ferocious [email protected]][blazing [email protected]][Spear of [email protected]] or [wild throw@ 14][spear of fury][go for the eye@ 4][charm [email protected]][comfort animal@ 12][never rampage alone]
You can remove [go for the eyes] for something like [call of protection] or [symbiotic bond] to give your pet a little more durability.

Beast=10
Leadership=9+1
Rest in command (you won't hit enough to use a shield, unless you get a really low req one-this is mostly to get some pointage for GftE)
GftE is your energy management and gives your pet a chance to crit. For an elite, [cruel spear] is nice, [heal as one] is also an option (you'll want to adjust your points so you have a high beast in this case). TNtF is there for generic party wide buff (NOTE: won't affect your pet).
NRA gives a nice speed buff equivalent to that of AR.
This is all off the top of my head and not responsible for any suckiness due to this build
