so, I haven't been able to find a definitive answer about the tapestry shred that gwen gives up. Is it used for anything? Is there a ghost of her mother walking around? Did we just waste our money getting the dumb thing?! Arg! Can anyone give me a final answer...? Thanks!

If you have Eye of the North, you can speak to Gwen in the Hall of Monuments after completing the Vanguard portion of the game to receive a quest.

The ghost of her mother is in the underworld, having gwen in your party when you enter starts a specific dialogue.

And if you bought it, it was a waste of money. :P

where is the underworld? The Underworld (UW) is accessable through the Temple Of Ages (ToA). You kneel at the statue of Grenth and Grenth pops up. You need to be ascended and also have 1k to pay to get into the underworld.
