Claw weapons
jadebullet
The one weapon which i have always loved are claw weapons. They would be perfect for the assassin. Those of you familiar with Diablo 2 Lord Of Destruction know what i am talking about.
Elder III
How about Wolverine in X-Men???
Trenixz
They could just make dagger skins that look like claws, it would work becuase they have daggers that are already like claws.

The term you are looking for are Qatars. These are the "claws" that were used by middle eastern assassins. Which, sadly, go out of context with the Asian "Ninja."
FlamingMetroid
Are you implying that GW assassins are modeled after Ninjas? Because they're obviously modeled after S&M practitioners.
KoKoS
1 handed sin weapon= all casters steal it and everyone's happy =P
Xcalibur the Great
yeup. we'd see a lot of Wolverine wannabes running around in game if that were ever to happen. just look what happened when everyone starting making Legolas named characters for their Rangers and Leonidas named characters for Paragons.
back on subject. they could make claw weapons either in the form of armor (i.e. gloves w/ claws) or actual weapons weilded by each hand. all depends if they're willing to make it of course. who knows.

I think the closest thing you'll ever see to this is, Stygian Daggers.

...I agree that they should be daggers though (and come in pairs of two).
Mordiego
/not signed. impossible to implement on various armors

Yes, I was talking about just making a few new daggers for the sin. They would have the ability to do it if they wanted to.
There are two main types of claw type weapons. The Katar, also known as a punching dagger, is used in a punching motion to stab the opponent with its one blade. The claw weapon on the other hand, was also used in Asia. Its translation means cats claw. It normally has three blades, and is used for slashing. Neither of these weapons are like wolverine's claws. His claws are attached to his hands.
Here is a pic of Katars.
And here is a pic of what i mean by claw weapons.
Both are from Diablo II BTW.

Also, gun katars, because they'd be awesome

Are they going to be holding a contest like this again? http://www.guildwars.com/events/cont...signaweapon07/
I think the examples here would be close enough to fall into the dagger family in my book.

I wish that there were more of those contests too.
Sixteen
I would like to see ones like Wolverines that do slashing damage.

Disgraces to the class.
MithranArkanere
Weapons like the knuckles, the jitte or the bandit hamer-staves seen on pre-Searing are good examples of how a weapon can be 'masked' to look like something else.
kazi_saki
This might actually work for GW2. If they're making new classes, they can make a new profession from the Elonian deserts that are assassin's creed-ish looking and they can weild Katars! Or those dagger-glove things the assassin's creed guy had! Well, at least make a class that looks kinda like him.
