Suspended account for buying gold?

Hello, my GW account has been suspended for 76 hours for purchasing gold. Will my account return to full working order after that time? Will they remove the money from my storage and items I may have bought with the bought money?

your lucky they even temp baned your account buying gw gold with real money is against there (tos)Terms of service. so find your self lucky and any items u bough with real money gold ect will be removed i believe if i remeber reading right.

make a permasin and farm.

Not at all, every cheater should be banned IMO , it's a multiplayer game, if you want to cheat, find a game you can play alone.

You are very lucky that the ban is only a temp one. You should also consider yourself lucky if they don't just strip away everything on your account.

As there is no way to roll back a single character, someone would have to determine what was purchased with the gold. I would consider that a waste of an employee's time.

It's idiots like this that makes the botters thrive, which in turn causes Anet to take ham-fisted action against all farming, which in turn pisses me right off.

Why does everyone automatically assume buying gold is "cheating"? Is it because you are 15 and have never had a job yet? For some people, it is more efficient to buy gold than to farm for hours. Heck, some games even have built in mechanisms for buying gold.

People exchange currency in exchange for services/goods. It's called free market economy.

Of course, it is A net's right to disallow gold selling. It's just funny that people are so reactionary about it, when really, it's MYOB.

1) You state it's against the rules, which it is, Thus it's not allowed -> Cheating.
2) We care because it gives them an unfair advantage over us who actually PLAY the game to earn things in the game.
3)If a game has a built-in mechanic for buying the gold it's so that the GAME or the owners of the servers get more money, usually for server upkeep or development, right now it goes to botters.

If you really are buying gold and not just a victim of transfering items between accounts, I'm quite surprised that you only got a temp ban. You should probably give up on GW if you have to rely on buying gold.

The process of what they do with bought gold is unclear to me, but it may be that they remove any items or gold related to bought gold. One case may be that you sold something to someone for gold that they purchased, and you're in the middle of a chain of people being tracked for the gold.

but either way-all money and i repeat-all- money on your account will be removed,otherwise it will be the same.

Also all things traded in the past however long will most likely be removed-im not 100% sure on that,but from the friends ive talked to who have transed money from one act to another and got banned,that seems to be what happens.

edit: at ruffwhatever under me,he cheated and hes worried about losing things,he deserves to be talked to badly.

You will probably lose all or most of the gold you bought, other than that it depends how closely they look at your account.

It is against the rules, you broke them and got caught, but ignore the level of animosity most of the responders have given you.

I wonder how many of you pious posters have actually never ever broken a rule yourselves. It really never ceases to amaze & sadden me just how unpleasant so many people in Guild Wars and even more so on this forum are to fellow gamers.
