Which is exactly why I came here. It's complete BS!!! I hope someone from ANet reads this! They should make these books exactly like they did when they introduced the EotN books. I had already gone through EotN a few times, and in order to not felt screwed, they added the option to pay to fill out books, if you had already completed the game.
WHY THE HELL HASNT THIS BEEN IMPLIMENTED!? I beat Tyria with 6 characters, 1 on hard, Cantha with 10 characters, and Elona with 10 characters. At this point I feel royaly screwed. They NEED to add the option to pay and fill out the books if you have already completed the content before. The game will easily recognize if you have completed it or not.

I totally felt the same
Lindsey has already stated that they do not have a record of how many times someone has gone through the mission on each character for each campaign. Remember that the three "main" chapters never had books unlike GWEN that was set up FOR books. So why would there be a log of the number of times you have completed a certain quest.

Imagine everyone gaining 100k all of a sudden... that's what would have happened if the books were retroactive.
Seems lame at first... but it would've been worse if they did what you asked for. |
Why would every player in the game getting 100k be a problem ?
There are some players to whom 100k is loose change if the gained or lost it its no big deal.
I have maybe 250 to 300k in cash +100 would be quite nice but nothing I couldn't get by doing a farming stint for a week or so.
My opinion for what its worth is that if every player in the game got it there would be no impact on my game whatsoever.
Should everyone but me somehow get 100 200 500k or even unlimited resources again no impact on my or many other peoples games.
Considering the numbers of people who play pvp the money would be useless.
To the large numbers who no longer interact with other players anyway preferring heroes and henchmen again little or no impact.
It would be nice if the books filled up for achievements already gained as I doubt I really want to take my 3 prime characters through every mission in prophesies factions and nightfall again.
If it doesn't happen I wont lose any sleep over it as its really no big deal, I have had 3 years enjoyment from the game and look forward to a new start in gw2.
Wrong. Millions of gold appearing out of nowhere in short amount of time would drive prices up since gold will lose part of it's value. Now, it may be actually good for the game or it may not... Nevertheless, it would be just a temporarily boost, nothing more.

I don't care that much, but 1 retro book would have been nice.
