I picked up the Flameseeker Prophecies from Gordon Ecker in Lion's Arch ~ is the point filling in this book the higher rewards given, rather than if I went back and did all the missions the regular way? I've Wiki'd and can't seem to find an answer.

the more pages you fill in the higher the reward will be,you don't need to complete the missions in the chronical order.

The book records the missions from D'Allesio Seaboard onwards and provides a written account of the story as well as some art for your enjoyment.
It's also a way to give an incentive to completing / replaying the missions for the reward involved. Once you fill at least 9 pages you get a portion of the reward for a full book.
