Why do I feel obligated?

I feel obligated to farm, rep points....
I own all three campaigns and the trillogy and I have been to all the campaigns plus the expansion except for factions with my dervish, sot hat includes prof, EOTN and NF. the amount of titles I have to get is over welming and reading the wiki it seems like it will take me a year just to get the NF one.
So i ask Why do I and some of you feel obligatedto go and farm rep points?
IF you look at the screen shot thread some people have managed to get all the titles in the game....
looking at those I feel so obligated

Thats not the point I am trying to make, what ever happened to serious posts.....
The point is, you goto nightfall you have more titles then the previous campaign you came from, you then go to factions and have even more titles then the last 2 previous campaigns you go to, then you go to eotn and have even more...how do people do it, spending countless hours grinding points

i think that is why they have added the new books and vanq even gives rep now. grinding does suck and thats all pve is now..hopefully books will bring some back to real pve..co-op missions

actually there (was) a way to get LDoA and LS but you had to be playing pre factions and never died and still in pre searing at lvl 19 with just a half of a exp bar left and never taking any quest rewards and doing the quest where you get all the piggies into the pen for 10 exp almost 12k times(imagine how long that would take, it would be like hfff all over again.)

I don't. However, i do think its stupid that people have to literally grind away at rep points just to get the most from their builds.
Wasn't the whole point to guild wars originally that you DIDN'T have to grind away for months just to compete?

I don't feel obligated to grind either. But Anet agrees with you and not me and has just made all the titles that much easier to get.

I don't know why you feel obligated
When it comes down to it there are very few of the many titles that actually provide any benefit to everyday play, and their benefit is limited. The Kurzick/Luxon rep is only useful if you're using their PVE only skills. The various EotN reputations levels help for their PVE skills and buffs, and give access to various traders.
Lightbringer only helps against certain foes.
So the main reason for getting these titles...for a little extra kick occasionally, and the opportiunity to show off...much like every other title all the way up to 'God Walking Amongst Mere Mortals'
Do you have to get them....No
Do you need to get them....No
Do you want to get them...That's up to you.
There are plenty of builds that don't use PVE skills, and all of Guild Wars PVE is doable without. So you don't have to get the titles, and it's up to you if you chose to follow that route for your way of playing

I do not feel obligated in the least to get rep points. Maybe you have some type of complex that makes you feel ashamed when you see someone has done something you have not, even if that something is as meaningless as getting a title in a game.
You should probably stop playing and seek some professional help.

I am currently working on my GWAMM (at 28 maxed now) and have found it has given me a purpose to keep playing this game. Seriously after playing all campaigns and expansions over the last 3 years I needed something to do. GW is a fun game and I have met a wide variety of interesting players (some are still on ignore) but if not for titles I would have jumped ship awhile ago.
Why do you play? I play because it is still fun and there is something for me to do.
As far as titles go, not many High ranked pvp players have gwamm (correct me if i'm wrong) so once I finish my PVE titles I plan to begin working on my PVP titles since that is another whole aspect of this game that I, as a hardcore PVE'r, have mostly ignored.
Dont do it unless you have fun doing it.......

When I see people engaged in activities that do not interest me or that I believe are wrong or stupid(suicide, why?), I choose not to be influenced by them. If GW2 provides some benefit that I like, I may consider it then. Absent information of GW1 title effects in GW2, however, I refuse to pursue titles simply for the sake of completing them. Please don't be offended if titles are your thing; they are simply not mine.
In short, I feel no obligation to complete titles.
