Faction Rewards

So, let me start off with my questions, before I go into my rant...

1) Is there a way to lose faction backpay? I understand that when you log in, your cap will go up and backpay will be re-assessed when you zone into another area, but what if you keep zoning into new areas with a maxed cap? Will any remaining backpay be lost or will you get it when you start spending your faction?

2) If I max both my Luxon/Kurzick factions and I spend on Luxon rewards, will my Kurzick faction go down?

3) Is there any 'patch' for people who did all these quests BEFORE the Hall of Monuments?

.

My rant...

If the answer to number 2 is.. "yes, your opposite side faction will go down.." thanks alot for nothing.

..and if the answer to number 3 is "no, you're out of luck.." thanks alot for alienating your longtime customers.

1. I have no idea... Don't think they can take something away before you have a chance to redeem it.

2. Yes, you will lose your Kurzick faction. Suck it up that's the way its been and I dont see them changing anything about it. Been that way since the game came out.

3. Which quests are you talking about? If you are talking about the quests that got the rewards changed as far as increased faction/reputation points; all the quests I did before the update (on all my chars) were automatically updated. I got all the increased LB points on my ranger after I logged in after the update.

2) Yes, I understand what you're saying. However, you've always had in your control the ability to keep your opposite side faction at 0 while doing whatever you were doing with the other. This way is a WASTE of faction since they're dumping both on you at the same time.

3) I'm talking about all the backpay rewards that require you to do have done the quests/missions/whatever AFTER the Hall of Monuments was introduced. All those factions cap increases for Factions were done before the Hall of Monuments, so it's not like I can get in there and do them over.

Okay I must totally be missing something because I don't remember any "Faction" quests being changed. The only changes they made were for Urgoz/Deep faction points for kills, challenge mission bonuses, and extending the faction cap. The only quest rewards that were changed were in EotN and Nightfall. Unless I'm totally wrong and completely misread something in the update. So I'm not sure what quests you're talking about.

"Your faction cap will automatically increase if you have already done the following things: either of the Befriending quests, the Luxon or Kurzick mission sets, and beaten Urgoz or Kanaxai after the addition of the Hall of Monuments to Guild Wars in August of 2007."

This specifically, but any others that are like it. The part about "after the addition of the Hall of Monuments."

Actually, now that I think about it.. is it referring ONLY to the Urgoz/Kanaxai missions as having to be done AFTER the Hall of Monuments?

I'm hesitant to login until I know what I'm faced with.

LOL You answered you're own question. Yes, you will have to do then again. But it's not alienating anyone. Yes it sucks that you have to redo this because you're high speed and did all this stuff before the release of EotN. However, none of this is really that hard and you can easily accomplish it. A lot of people have to redo certain things since this update. The fact of the matter is this is a game. And its supposed to be fun... So if you're not having fun then you need to find a different game or something.

smoochie, I don't think you REALLY understand what I'm asking

..but I suspect the only way I'm going to know is to log in and find out.

High speed has nothing to do with it. Kanaxai and Urgoz were out LONG before EotN was out. Also, you can't redo quests so if those are having to be done AFTER EotN, then it IS alienating the longterm customers. Check my join date with yours, there's quite a large amount of things I've done before the Hall of Monuments.

..but now, that I've examined that last sentence from a different perspective, I think it's referring only to Kanaxai and Urgoz which are repeatable. I'm hoping that maybe, just maybe, they also took precautions to avoid people wasting faction by dumping both Luxon and Kurzick on you at the same time.

..and yes, I agree, that if you're not having fun, you need to find a different game. This is why I haven't played Guild Wars in over a year. This update, however, has my interest picqued, but not if I'm going to get the shaft at the same time.

Yes, I understand what you're saying. However, if all your posts you spoke about quests. I have even went back and reread the update notes and I could not find anything in them about Factions and new quest rewards. The only thing I seen about quests was "Befriending teh Kur/Lux." So I had no idea what you were talking about. It is my understanding (from what I have noticed on my account) is that non-repeatable quests were automatically adjusted once you logged into that character. But again the only "quests" I seen that changed were in EotN and Nightfall. Nothing in Factions.

2. QQ over free faction. Go mope in a corner.

3. Not totally sure what your complaint is here, but it sounds like a lame one anyway.

As far as the backpay goes, I don't believe there's a way to lose it. It will be stored until you spend enough that it can fill up your faction again. You'll have to switch outposts (characters?) to see the change.

So much for hoping the intelligence level increased as the game got older.

I'll just take my crying and lame complaints someplace else, thanks for opening my eyes Shayne

smoochie, thank you for trying to help despite the miscommunication

Another thread where somone is QQing over faction loss when spending. It's free you would not have gotten it at all normally. Chose your side and enjoy it. I have played for just under 2 years according to the age command. I have beaten all three campaigns and GWEN. So this update didn't help me as much as it could have. I am happy that I got something for FREE. Its amazing people are still QQing over the loss and need to repeat certain benchmarks in the stories a week after the update.

1)Nope. I spent some time zoning in and out on multiple chars before I did something to up my allegiance caps. The amount of faction I was owed never went down til there was room enough for me to receive all of it.

2)Yes, but thats the way its always been. Free faction is free faction.

3)The HoM bit only applies to the Deep/Urgoz, as there was no way to keep track of that before the HoM. No additional patching required.
