Game cards @ 7-Eleven
sellars
Hi,
is the $20 game card for the original GuildWars (as mentioned on players.guildwars.com) also being sold in Canada? Does anyone know?
(For me, North America = Canada, USA and Mexico)

Amen Brother!
On topic: Do you mean the cards that were used on the tournaments? If so I think GuildWars had put them somewhere in their website so anyone could dload them and print them out.
Lemme see if I can dig up the url.
Edit: AAAGGGHHHH Nevermind! lol, I was wrong about that one. Just found out you are talking about another kind of game card. I feel foolish

I would assume that "available in North America" means Canada is included. Otherwise they would have said "available in the U.S. only".
It seems to me though, that "7-eleven" in Canada was bought out by "Green Gables" (at least around where I am). So the question also becomes, where do you find a 7-Eleven in Canada? Or, are they also available at Green Gables?
(Tried the Store Locator - seems a bit wonky)
On a side note - it amuses me how many GW players from the US think that "america" (as in the GW region) means the "United States of America" instead of North, Central, and South America combined. Of course, many of those same people think that anyone posting on Guru is from the US as well. I'll refrain from additional comment.

Amazing the geographic ignorance of some Americans, thinking that we solely are the rulers of our continent and that everyone else is lesser. <_<
Anyways, do you mean those cards that have access codes only for campaigns and come with nothing else?

Or are you just joking around...?

North America means the US, Canada and Mexico. America typically always means the United States of America. You don't hear other countries calling us United Statesians or some such nonsense, so when we hear America, understandably, we're not going to think of North, Central and South America as a whole.
On a side note, yes, we are the sole rulers of the Americas and everyone else is lesser, so there!

Geography aside, just what exactly are these meant for? Just buying stuff in the online store?

It might have something to do with there not being a Spanish district.

why the hell did this turn into a geography and conquest debate. as for the original question i think it will be available in canada, though youll be hard to find a 7 eleven due to what quacker said.

We Canadians do enjoy looking down, oh I meant south, at you americans
As for the game card, if they do bring it to Canada then chances are its in any store that sells video games. It does sound like its just an access key for the original prophicies campain, though I would be cautious that they are sealed so that people don't steal the codes off the rack and stick people with useless cards.

So I went down to my local 7-Eleven in Vancouver, BC and asked for the game card. As expected, I earned a blank stare. They did have gamecards for Neopets and Habbo.
So I would really like to know if AreaNet screwed up by saying "North America" instead of "USA", or if it's just the store I went to that is not carrying those cards.
Maybe Regina is reading this....

who knows what they meant.
went to FOUR different 7-Elevens in and around the suburbs of Los Angeles.
Each time they gave me a blank stare and asked "what war?"
Sigh.

Checked a few Green Gables around here - I mostly got the "Whuh?" response, but at one store, the guy had heard about it - but they didn't have them.

We had Mexico once. Remember the Mexican/American war? We took and held Mexico for a little while. Most politications at the time agreed, we gave it back because it was more trouble than it was worth. Honest.

Sounds like when Britan left America. Or when any huge army ends up leaving someplace podunk it tried to conquer. (Vietnam, Iraq...)
