So reading the wiki, is seems that the bonus missions are repeatable as often as I want (for as many weapons as I may want), but the discoveries can only be done once per account. Is that correct?

Yes. What this means is that you can get unlimited numbers of items by repeating a mission, but the discovery bonus books are only to be done once.

I've done Gwen's escape four or five times, but didn't notice any "bonus book". What are you referring to here? I got my warrior a charr axe/shield and my elementalist a charr wand/focus. I don't remember being given a book for any of them though.

Yeah same thing with me, i got the bonus mission pack but no discovery book thingy. It is probally a new thing since i havent done the bonus in awhile. Ill go try it out.

When you complete a discovery, the book doesn't appear in your inventory. You need to talk to Durmand again and choose the option to talk about discoveries. Then you can ask him to give you the extra book for any discovery that you've completed. This allows the discovery bonus books to be claimed by any character on your account. Just have the character that should receive the book talk to Durmand about discoveries, and the bonus book will be customized and given to that character.

If your doing Discoveries, I'm fairly sure that theres some green text in your chat box that says X/X of action completed. For example, in the battle of Jahai, It says something like "you have discovered X of 5 strategic viewpoints where Turai Ossa could've gained the upper hand in the battle."

It seems to me on further study that you can repeat the quest for as many weapons as you want, but you only get the big gold/xp bonus once per account.

BMP is awesome for not only its skins, but also for the GREAT bonuses you get from discoveries. You can get 7.5k per story (2.5k per discovery) which will amount to A LOT of money while doing very unique missions.
