Syndicate Nightmare [SyN]

Hello. Recently, I have installed Guild Wars. Everything went well. However, when I selected the character to play on, the maps would not load. (The size of map increases, but download rate and files remaining stayed the same).

Hence, last night, I added -image to the Guild Wars.exe target. "D:\Program Files\Guild Wars\Gw.exe" -image

I did this because on a forum, someone said that adding this will download all the maps at one time and you won't have to wait for it to load in the game.

I did this. It took quite a while, but I believe it successfully downloaded the maps. Then once completed, I removed -image from the target to successfully launch the game. However, when I try to log in, I get this error message. (I coloured in my username and password for security reasons.)

Is there a way to resolve this problem? Please let me know, I have spent countless hours downloading the files from -image, and I log in to be presented with such an error. );

Thank you.

I've never had that problem so a quick check of gw support and came up with this.
It seems it's either a firewall or router issue.

I frequently get 058s, and when I do I just run downstairs, restart the router, and try again. It always works for me. Good luck!

I've been able to log in last evening. I added Guild Wars to the list of exceptions in my Windows Firewall, but no cigar.

Oh wait...
I just temporarily disabled my ESET NOD32 Antivirus and I logged in! (;

I guess I'll have to disable my AV every time I go on GW. ;3

Thank you dearly for the support.

No need to disable NOD32. You just have to tell it to ignore gw.exe or the whole Guild Wars folder when it scans for stuff or blocks it.

Okay, got it. Bring the NOD32 main window up, press Settings, F5, then you have something like exclude or whatever (Polish version...). Just add the gw.exe path there and should be okay.
