So I was thinking of trying to farm some warrior tomes in HM, but I jsut can't get past the scatter. I've tried Minotaurs outside Ice Tooth Cave, Minotaurs in Elona Reach and Mountain Trolls. It seems that as soon as they get below about half health, they run. I have an Elementalist that I've tried Earth Tank/Sliver with and an Assassin that I've tried SF/Sliver and SF/Dagger (Death Blossom). I just can't kill them in any reasonable amount of time. Are there any suggestions on this?

try using radiation + vipers defense when they get low. The degen should be enough to kill them over time without scattering. But even if they do scatter, theyll still die.

One of the best places ive found to accumulate Warrior tomes is the Sardelac Sanitaruim Hulking Stone Ele run, im pretty sure just about any prof can farm them, they spawn along a path in groups of 2-4, besides the tomes the drops are decent, granite and coal that both sell decent to traders, salvagable mats, golds to id or sell as unid's etc etc
in an hour of farming(off and on, i usually accumulate 20-30 tomes)

degen is probably the best form of damage against runners like wars. try the farm hippie suggested, ive tried it once and it works fairly well.

OK so I tried the Smite Crawler build - it works great in NM but just doesn't do enough damage in HM and they all run away after they get back up from dragon stomp. It does spike them down to about 1/3 of their health, though.

does that shockwave+wave+wave combo kill them all in one shot? if not, they're gonna run away and heal...

How many of the Hulking Stone Eles are you trying to aggro? If it is 3 or less, you should have no issue with scatter whatsoever.
I use a N/Mo 55 SV to farm them, and unless I have more than 3 Elementals on me, they don't run at all.
Also use a Mo/D 55 SoJ to farm Undead outside of Bergen Bot Springs, and unless I have more than 3 melee mobs on me at once (Grasping Ghoul/Hellhound/Wraith), no scatter occurs, and that build uses AoE KD.
