really?
Has Anet nerfed a farming spot since the griffons?
Oh, I'm sorry, putting rend enchantments in UW, that sure stopped farming there.
Why does ArenaNet always nerf good farming spots?

You get ~1k/mission in NM and HM (500/500 misison/bonus in proph or 200/300/500 for normal/expert/master in others), excluding ~500-2k average on drops (depending on mission length, party size, high-value drops like golds/lockpicks). So say cantha which has 13 missions IIRC, thats 26k from missions and another 13-52k on drops. Ofc then there's the books, regular primary quests, 2x vanquish for the 10k faction on both sides.. You are quickly looking at 50-100k total from just playing the game.
The only reason left to farm nowadays is the obsidian set, since if its for GWAMM for titles you're better of doing Snowman's Lair over and over for 4-5 chests (giving lucky/unlucky/treasure/wisdom), dwarf rep, 2-4 [nm/hm] chest rewards (drunk/party/sweet).
Ironically, doing all missions in NM/HM, vanquishing everything and completing all NM/HM books as well as enough EotN HM books for the rep rewards will likely give enough money for that obsidian set. Sure it'll take longer, but what use is buying stuff first trough farming, finally ending up with a few 100k that you cant spend since you bought stuff already in the past.

Not anymore it isnt. I wish it was.
The only reason Anet nerfs specific farming spots or changes skills that hinder certain farming builds is to lessen the potential effects of over-farming on the economy. I have some doubts as to the effectiveness of that goal, as well as any sort of consistent approach given, for example, how long Ursan was left on the loose, but at least that it what they say. Were it just to hinder bots, there are other methods.

Well, not sharing your farming build is a good advice. However, I said, in addition to finding your own spot, DON'T SHARE IT. That's why HFFF got nerfed because someone spilled the beans.
Well the funny thing is that Anet nerfs after the damage has been done. Lets take for example Griff farming. Back in the days you could easely get 3 golds per run. Back then, a +30hp or 20/20 sundering was worth +30k. Now those upgrades are worth way less to the point gold drops in the desert are irrelevant. Especially those from prophecies as they are non inscriptable. On top the value of a weapon rarely exceeds 400 gold. The average value of golds around 280g a piece imo. Getting 3 crapp golds still gives a better feeling than receiving one white + one griffon wing for killing 20 griffs.
The fun factor of the game decreased over the years. The problem is that players first can enjoy the freedom for a long time. After the nerf comes into play, the game seems a little less fun again.
Now we get free Z-keys through predictions, but where is the fun in that? It takes 5 minutes to place your predictions and you receive around 80k. The gold you receive from the z-keys comes from other players and not for example the merchant. That's how Anet fixes things, let the players fight it out amongst themselves.
One might ask, where's the fun in doing an area over and over again? Getting gold drops and an enjoyable amount of crap. You kill an enemy and you take his posessions aka 'loot'.
Personaly, I reached the point of not having to farm to fulfil my gaming needs sorta speak. But I had plenty of fun with farming in this game the first two years before Anet really stepped in.

My first reaction was: "Did Kepkhet move to Asuran lands already? About time." OP disappointed me.
Okay, so if I follow correctly:
Farming being possible is Anets mistake.
They remedied that error by nerfing X.
Hence, you quit.
Bravo!
(I wouldn't call following farming subforum and jumping to latest farming bangwagon imaginative myself. Next will be people that claim than SF sins are snowflake builds that need EPA protection. Wait a sec, that already happened.)

Can someone please explain it to me? it seems like the company discourages imaginative, easy ways to make money. After all, it can be viewed as their own fault for making farming possible. I quit this game permanently due to their actions of ruining the game and the fun factor.

I must be a horrible player because I have only ever used one farm, and it has never been nerfed or changed in the slightest (not counting Hard Mode increasing gold drops).
I was still able to purchase FOW armor for my war back before Factions came out and have tonnes of high end weapons not to mention bought chaos gloves the day they were released.
I can earn about 1K every 10-15 minutes of playing. Sounds really crappy and yet after playing for 4000+ hours it does add up quite a bit.
The problem most people have with farming really has nothing to do with farming and everything to do with knowing how to manage their money.
