Filling Hall of Monuments
Sirds
I playing 7 chars and all have Hall of Monuments. So question - is there difference if I show only one weapon and armor set for each character or better to show weapons/armors for one char and filling Monument of Valor and Monument of Resilience completely?
Thanks
Thanks

I think that if you don't fill Monument of Valor or Monument of Resilience completely, you won't get any reward in GW2...
That's why everyone (or almost everyone) is against HoM...

I would also like to know what makes you think that... I'm simply against HoM because it promotes endless grind. I somehow don't think you have to max your HoM to get a reward in GW2, however if that is the case I'm pretty sure they'll have a hell of a lot of angry customers (i.e. the entire casual gaming community who have been playing this game for over 3 years now...)

Well... Ignoring title grinding, I don't find "logic" that only 1 weapon, 1 armor or 1 hero will be enough... Unless there will be different rewards depending on how many things you added to HoM.
I hope that I will be wrong...
EDIT: I've changed my main character 3 times, and I'm not filling my HoM with anyone... So, keep your "OMG E-PEEN" out of here, thanks :3

I prefer to think that you just need to place at least one item in each "Monument". I cannot see ArenaNet requiring that you acquire all heroes or multiple elite armor sets or every minipet.

It is most likely that the 'rewards' or whatever will happen to HoM in GW2 will depend on the monument size. Just an example, can guarantee it wont be like this but just to illustrate my thoughts;
0-4 minipets; nothing (come on, min 4 characters per person and a lot of minipets are 1k~ish undedicated means everybody should reach this).
5-9; white minipet
10-14; purple minipet
15-19; gold minipet
20+; green minipet

One big thing you all are forgetting is that when they get the coding ready for GW2 we will be getting the update for Account Based HoM so it doesn't matter how many of what thing you put into for each toon because one day it will be one account one hall, like it should of been on day 1 imo.

Exemple, if I have 1 axe and 1 staff in one HoM and 1 similar staff in other HoM, whats is result after halls update:
1 axe and 2 staff or 1 axe and 1 staff(becouse similar staffs)?

Yah i think they definantly should have account based...it makes no sense otherwise......especially how if u wanna put all the weaps on one u have to customize it to that char that doesnt need a tormented focus or somethin

HoM really needs to be account based,i don't think much poeple will spend to much gold on all that weapons, mini pets, armors and al the other things. so A-net make it account based ^^

# It does not support bulk transfer of armor, items, characters, or gold. However, acquiring select items in GW1 will confer benefits in GW2 via the Hall of Monuments.
# Each of your GW1 characters has its own Hall of Monuments. However, the rewards will be "unlocked" account-wide and will transfer to your GW2 account, and there are plans to allow a player to display all monuments attained on their account in GW1. Accomplishments dedicated in GW1's HoM will continue to update your GW2 account even after GW2's release.
This would indicate that each item unlocked will confer benefits in GW2. You don't need to fill your hall, each item will confer benefits.
Also, when the HoM update comes in you can display your HoM to visitors either account wide or per character. When you display account wide, the resilience monument will only display the armours for your current character although the benefits of having 5 unlocked armours will be conferred in GW2.
So it doesn't matter how you fill your HoM, anything you earn on your GW1 account will benefit your GW2 account fully. However, it was specified in discussions with Anet that any benefits you earn through HoM will be purely vanity objects, they will not provide buffs or make your gameplay easier. You'll just have access to cooler stuff than new players.

Let's look at this from a different angle...
Suppose that you DO have to have a full HoM at GW2 release to get some sort of benefit. If the benefit is a special title in GW2, then well... whoopdee fricken do! Unless its a title that somehow affects a skill (which I doubt it would be) then its just another pointless piece of E-peen (YAY! I'm a descendant of a God Walking Amongst Mere Mortals!!). Maybe the reward will be a weapon or minipet? Well in that case, so many people will be receiving this item that it will likely have very little value. There may be so many of them that using the item equates to using /bonus weapons does now, which to be fair has a point early on but also will get you ripped on a whole lot as time passes.
So the way I see it, maxing out your HoM is largely pointless, unless you're one of those OCD people who needs to complete every aspect of the game and collect every item available. Thus, I'd say maxing your HoM or not is a choice no one else can make for you, and as such this thread is rather pointless. Just my 2 cents....

Fill your hall if you want to - if it "floats your boat". But don't obsess over it.
In answer to your question though - nobody really knows what benefit(s) you might receive and what's the best way (for you) to get them.
Crystal Lake
I don't intend to fill my HoM, however a couple of my Guild members have been working on that. If someone actually fills a hall they should definitely get some kind of bonus besides a title.

Causual or not...if someone has been playing this for 3 years and have yet to max any monument they simply suck.
pamelf
very well, I freely admit to sucking.
...or at least to having better things to do with my play time than farming to get a whole lot of fugly weapons I don't want...

Quaker
I'm sure they'll get angry customers no matter what they do. But I think you are stretching it if you claim to speak for the entire casual gaming community. I've been playing for over 3 years, and I don't care what they do with the HoM - I'm looking forward to a fresh start in GW2 and don't care if I carry over anything.
Parson Brown
I always assumed you had to fill a particular section of the HoM to get the associated reward in GW2, whatever that may be. However, I also thought they were supposed to be "combining" HoMs account wide.
So I guess what I'm saying is that no one really knows
